Introduction
Climate change is a pressing issue in our society today. Open defecation and careless waste
disposing is a major issue and challenge in Nigeria. This has influenced our climate negatively.
Clean Naija is a social enterprise that strive to solve climate change issue in Nigeria by using
technology at the same time also create job opportunities. The mobile application enable users to
find the nearest toilet or waste disposal. It also allowed user to add new toilet and waste disposal.
Our goal is to reduce the rate of pollution, erosion and waste disposal by eliminating open
defecation and careless waste dumping.
Problem
1. Open defecation: In October 2019, Nigeria became the number one open defecation
nation globally. 47 million Nigerians defecate openly. Only 14 out of 774 local
governments are free of open defecation. Nigeria loses $3 billion annually due to poor
sanitation.
2. Open Waste Disposal: Nigeria generates one of the highest amount of solid waste in
Africa. Waste contribute directly to greenhouse gas emissions through the generation of
Methane and nitrous Oxide
3. Environmental Challenge: Open defecation and careless waste dumping does not only
pollute the environment it also possess environmental, health and economic problem.
SOLUTION
Our Solution is simple mobile applications that promote and support the elimination of open
defecation and careless waste dumping. The app allows users to do the following

operate as Uber Trash Truck.

Feasibility Studies
Based on our research Nigerian government losses $3 billion annually due to poor sanitation.
Moreover, FG needs $1.6 Trillion to eradicate open defecation in 2025, because 46 million
Nigerians do not have access to toilet. On the development aspect, we are team of software
developers and we have already developed a prototype. Lastly, for investor there is a huge
money in waste management globally.
