7th International Symposium
Programmable Electronic Systems in Safety Related Applications
Scope In the past years, the automation industry was able to realize development
opportunities and to achieve major growth, both in the national and the
international arena.
The implementation of safety-related automation applications including
programmable systems is a standard in most application areas. This includes
programmable controllers, field devices, bus systems and their configuration
and programming by the user. The functional safety of these devices in
operation has to be guaranteed for the protection and safety of persons,
environment and systems.
International standards, as for example the IEC 61508, IEC 62061, IEC 61511, IEC
61131 und EN 954/ ISO 13849 describe requirements, which have to be fulfilled
during development and use of systems. The safety management of the
complete life cycle of complex applications and devices is gaining more and
more importance.

The Symposium will present the state-of-the-art of safety related applications.

Manufacturers will show their newest developments and products in

individual presentations during the accompanying exhibition.

The topic “Safe Bussystems” will be discussed in detail during a

workshop/panel. Representatives of the various bus organizations will
present the objectives and developments of their organizations.

Detailed information will be imparted in workshops concerning special

topics.

Target groups Manufacturers and designers of safety related systems; planners and
constructors of safety relevant installations; operating companies;
testers, experts; approval authorities.

Conference language English and German (simultaneous translation).

Exhibition/ The international symposium will be accompanied by an exhibition.

Proceedings The proceedings include additional scripts, which will not be presented
during the Symposium.
