man shares her dreams.
“I am certain of winning
and my first job will be to
stop discrimination
amongst people on the
lines of political affilia-
tion. People may have dif-
ferent political views and
that’s the beauty of our
democracy, but this differ-
ence of view should not be
translated into hatred for
others who subscribe to
other ideologies,” Pinky
said.
Asked why she chose the
BJP, she said, “The saffron
camp symbolises love for
which I had joined the saf-
fron camp. Since I am a
transgender, I am always
heckled by people and my
house is also attacked. I
want to work for the socie-
ty and spread love despite
all these miseries I have
faced. We, members of the
transgender community,
are always humiliated but
people should understand
that we are also humans.
“I have studied till Class
8, but after I win the Zilla
Parishad polls, I want to
work for the education of
the kids in my area and
rise above religion, caste
and gender,” added Pinky.
A determined Pinky, who
had lost her mother soon
after her birth, runs four
ashrams and wants to de-
velop them further.
“I have four Ashrams in-
cluding an orphanage, an
old-age home, for trans-
gender and saints. A Vish-
nu temple is also being
built. I want to develop
the same further so that
people in need can be
served better,” said the
BJP candidate, also
adding that she was one of
the persons who had
protested at Jantar Man-
tar in New Delhi demand-
ing for the voting rights of
the transgenders.
