I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Timeframe: 60 minutes
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
1. identify different examples of idiomatic expression;
2. demonstrate idiomatic expressions through a short drama; and
3. reflect the relevance of idiomatic expressions in a daily communication.

MOTIVATION: The teacher will let the students do an activity by playing charades.
ACTIVITY
The teacher will divide the class into 3 groups. The teacher will present the students a set of pictures to
guess by playing the Rebus Puzzles Brainteaser. Each group must answer to win and gets a rewards.

ANALYSIS
The teacher will elicit responses from the students by asking questions.
ABSTRACTION
The teacher will introduce a brief discussion about idiomatic expression by giving examples. Next, the
students will grasps the importance of idiomatic expression in a daily communication. After that, the teacher
will sum up the lesson by asking the students their understanding and realization about the topic. Lastly, the
teacher will ask for any clarification and queries from the students.
APPLICATION
With the same groups, the students will make a short drama with the use of idiomatic expressions.
EVALUATION
The students will answer the activity matching type by matching the set of idiomatic expressions to their
actual meaning.
ASSIGNMENT
The students will create a poem that uses the idiomatic expression in the context.
