E. NARRATIVE REPORT
Reading is an important skill that every people must possess. Through reading, people
obtain information and able to go other places through books. Learners in schools were able to
know the cultures, improve their language and communication skills through reading. Reading
opens new door for learning and nurturing ones imagination and creativity.
San Nicolas Integrated School conduct a Project READ. Because of the current situation,
schools were forced to conduct a modular distance learning and blended learning. In realation to
learning reading, the parents and teacher partnership were strengthened. The teachers conduct
google meet sessions, limited face to face and send reading materials with activities to the students.
The parents will guide their children to the given reading activities. In this case, the teacher will be
able to monitor, assess and evaluate the learners who is struggling in reading and with low
comprehension in reading.
This program conducted a remedial for the slow/non-readers, in order for them to surpass the
challenges in reading in the midst of pandemic.
So far, a lot of reading progress are evident. They were able to read and comprehend phrases,
sentences, paragraphs and stories both literacy and numeracy. Through this improvement, I may
say that they were ready for the next grade level and will continue to learn.
