ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
The achievement that is associated with the successful completion of any task would be incomplete without
mentioning the names of those people whose endless cooperation made it possible. Their constant guidance
and encouragement made all our efforts successful.
We take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude towards our project mentor, Bijoy Naskar for giving
such valuable suggestions, guidance, and encouragement during the development of this project work.
Last but not the least we are grateful to all the faculty members of Ardent Computech Pvt. Ltd. for their
support.
REVIT
Introduction
Revit is commercial building information modeling (BIM) software by the company Autodesk. It is generally used by
architects, structural engineers, designers, and contractors. The software allows the users to design a building and
structure and its components in 3D, annotate the model with 2D drafting elements, and access building information
from the building model’s database. Revit is 4D building information modeling capable with tools to plan and track
various stages in the building’s lifecycle, from concept to construction and later maintenance and/or demolition.
Parametric components
Parametric components, also known as families, are the basis for all building components designed in Revit.
They offer open, graphical system for design thinking and form making as well as an opportunity to express
design intent at increasingly detailed levels. Use Parametric components for the most elaborate assemblies,
such as cabinetry and equipment, as well as for the most elementary building parts such as walls and columns.
Best of all, no programming language or coding is required.

Detailing
We can take advantage of the extensive detail library and detailing tools provided with Revit.
Presorted to align with the CSI format, detail libraries can be tailored to accommodate our needs. We
can create, manage and share our own detail library.
Schedules
Schedules are just another view of Revit architecture model. A change to a schedule view is automatically
reflected in every other view and vice versa. Its functionality includes associative split-schedule sections and
selectable design elements via schedule views, formulas, and filtering.

Material Takeoff
We can calculate detailed material quantities with this new tool. It is appropriate for sustainable design and
checking material quantities in cost estimates. Material Takeoff simplifies the tracking of material quantities.
The parametric change engine helps ensure that our material takeoffs are always accurate .
Design Options
We can develop and study multiple simultaneous design alternatives to make key design decisions. We can
substitute each option in the model for visualization, quantification, and other data analysis to inform decision-
making.
Design Visualization
We can capture design ideas in a photorealistic state by using this software. With the easy user interaction, high
quality output and faster render times enables superior design presentation.
