This video explains how different sprocket
combinations between the front and the rear
sprocket affect your bike's performance.

When the 'drive ratio' is increased, acceleration

and torque are increased, but each gear is
shorter.

When the 'drive ratio' is decreased, each gear is

longer and therefore your overall top end speed
increases in each gear, but the torque and
acceleration are decreased.

In my opinion, the way to 'Px' the stock gearing

of the TTR 230 is to 'gear up', which is
accomplished by increasing the size of the
front sprocket and/or decreasing the size of the
rear sprocket.

The stock gearing for the TTR230 is 13/49.
