1. DESCRIPTION
A. The Double Toggle Hook Latch Assembly consists of a trigger assembly, a hook assembly, a
handle, four links, two springs and the required attaching hardware.
B. Refer to Table 1 for the Technical Properties of the Double Toggle Hook Latch Assembly.
C. See Figure 1 for the Primary Components of the Double Toggle Hook Latch Assembly.
2. OPERATION
The handle springs 15 (+ / -) 2 degrees to the free travel position when the trigger is pushed.
Continued rotation of the handle overcomes the toggle locking, and at approximately 110
degrees of rotation releases the hook from the mating engagement point. Returning the handle
to its original position automatically secures and locks the latch assembly

parts.
NOTE: When using detergent for an immersion bath solution, mix with
four parts (by volume) of water. For general cleaning purposes,
detergent may be mixed with up to 20 parts of water.
C. If detergent was used as a cleaning agent, rinse all parts in clean water; then finish with a
clean, lint-free cloth moistened with Isopropyl Alcohol.
D. Dry the parts with clean, lint-free cloths or clean compressed air at less than 20 psig
(138 kPag) nozzle pressure.
CHECK
1. GENERAL
A. This section gives the instructions to check each component of the Double Toggle Hook
Latch Assembly for wear or damage.
B. Give close attention to bearing and bushing holes, counterbores, and other areas susceptible
to cracks, wear, galling, metal pickup, burrs, nicks, scratches, and other damage.
NOTE: Burrs, nicks, and scratches are defined as any material lifted
above the surface of the part which, if not removed, can
prevent complete seating of parts and surfaces to be mated.
If the damage from any burrs, nicks, and scratches leaves a
surface without a surface coat or protection, note the defect for
repair.
E. Replace any threaded part if the damage to the threads is more than 50 percent of any one
thread. If damage to a thread is 50 percent or less of any one thread, assign the part for
repair.

They are preceded by the phrase “ * ATTACHING PARTS * ” and are followed by the
symbol “ * * * * * * * * * * * * “ .
(4) The basic Hartwell Special Product (HSP) part number is given in the PART NUMBER
Column and may be followed by an alpha suffix (HSP115A) for identification purposes.
This is done to comply with the ATA Specification 200 / 2000 Provisioning Data file edit
requirements. The complete HSP part number is given in the NOMENCLATURE
column (FULL P/N HSP115-094-1400). This is the part number to be used to order
replacement parts.
(7) If applicable, the Source or Specification Control Drawing is given in this column. The
letters “SCD” are put before the drawing number (SCD 123456-78).
(8) The manufacturer’s CAGE Code may be given if the part is not manufactured by the
Hartwell Corporation or is not a standard (AN, MS or NAS Specification) part. Refer to
paragraph 3 for additional information.
(9) If Hartwell has been issued a valid Parts Manufacturing Authority for the End Item or
Major Assembly part number given, the abbreviation “ PMA ” will be shown in the
NOMENCLATURE column of the Detail Parts List.
E. EFF CODE Column
(1) This column contains the Effectivity Codes (A, B, etc.) to show the alternative models or
configurations of the end item to which the parts apply. The Effectivity Codes are
applicable only in each individual IPL Figure.
(2) This column is left empty when the parts apply to all models or configurations included in
the Detail Parts List.
(3) The abbreviation N/P (Not Procurable) is given when the item is Not Procurable, but is
given for reference only (also see the UNITS PER ASSY Column description). If the item
with the N/P notation is an End Item or Major Assembly, the component parts for that End
Item or Major Assembly are not given in the Detail Parts List.
F. UNITS PER ASSY Column
(1) The quantity given in this column shows the units required for one NHA or, when you
refer to the attaching parts, the quantity to attach one such item.
(2) The abbreviation RF (reference) shows the end item or assembly is shown completely
assembled in the figure given in the NOMENCLATURE column.
(3) The abbreviation N/P (Not Procurable) gives the item as for reference only. The item is
not procurable and, if the item with the N/P notation is an End Item or Major Assembly,
the component parts for that End Item or Major Assembly are not given in the Detail Parts
List (also see the EFF CODE Column description).
A. The Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) codes for the companies that manufacture
the parts, the materials, the special tool and the test equipment specified in this CMM are
given in Table 1002.
B. The codes are numeric or alpha-numeric and are taken from the Cataloging Handbook
H4 / H8. This code is shown in the NOMENCLATURE column. The capitol letter “V” is put
before the code (V12345).
C. When there is no CAGE Code shown in the NOMENCLATURE column, the part is
manufactured by the Hartwell Corporation or it is a standard (AN, MS or NAS Specification)
part.
