• A group of organisms of same species living in same habitat is called
population.
• All the organisms of different species living in some particular area form
community.

Fish have streamlined bodies, evenly distributed fins, pointed head with relatively
large mouth and forked tail to help them swim through the water.

Sunlight:
It is used by plants to prepare food. All organisms depend on plants for food directly
or indirectly. Intensity of sunlight affects on number of plants which affects on
population.
Temperature:
It also plays important role in change of habitat. Extreme hot or cold conditions affect
the organism.
Water:
It is very important for living things. Availability of water results in number of
populations to live in that particular area.
Outbreak of epidemics:
Outbreak of epidemics has disastrous effects on populations of different organisms.
Migration:
Migration of animals and birds results in increase or decrease of size of population.

Describe the adaptations of aquatic animals to live in their habitat.

• Aquatic animals have streamlined bodies which helps them to move in water
easily. For example Fish have streamlined bodies, evenly distributed fins,
pointed head with relatively large mouth and forked tail to help them swim
through the water.
• Aquatic plants have long stems so that their leaves can float near the surface of
water to get light. The stems of water plants have cavities in them through
which air can pass to roots.

Explain a food web with the help of an example.

Many interconnected food chains form a network called food web.
Example:
• A jackal does not always eat a rabbit, but it also eats goat, hen etc.
• Similarly a lion does not feed on deer. It also hunts for cows, goats and some
other animals.
• In this way mostly animals feed on more than one kind of animal.
