The poem explores ideas of memory and the effect that
war can have on people. Even those not ‘directly’
affected.

The poem explores the idea of the horrors of war. And the struggles of memories.
‘running children in a nightmare heat’

Structure:
 4 stanzas, with 6 lines in each---> the uniformity links to the lack of identity to those who
have lost their lives in war. ‘ordered rows’
 Rhyme schemes of ABBCDD. In every stanza.

3. ‘solutions slop in trays’
