WRITING PART 1

Structure :

1. Email address must look like an email address.


For example : abu@xyz.com / nora@gmail.com / amy@yahoo.com

If you write NAME only, marks will be deducted.

2. The subject of the email must be related to the content of the email.

3. Say Hi / Hello / Dear followed by their name with capital letter for the first letter
then comma.
For example : Hello John, / Hi Jonah, / Dear Milah,

4. Write opening sentence :


For example : Thank you for your email. / Hope you’re great. / Hope you’re well.

5. MUST respond to the sender’s opening sentence like in the table below.

6. Write main idea of the email : to give opinion / suggestion / to encourage / to make
a decision. Then give reasons, at least THREE.

7. Write closing sentence :


For example : Hope my suggestion helps. That’s all from me. Talk soon!

8. End with your name :


For example :
Love,
Abu

Your friend,
Siti

Things to remember :
1. Remember to make ONE choice if the sender asks you to help make a decision or
to give opinion.
For example, “I have no idea what to choose for my extra curricular activity.
Should I join debate club, media team, or badminton club.” CHOOSE ONE
ONLY then provide at least 3 reasons for your choice.

2. Please respond to the sender first sentence in the email. We have done this
exercise in class.
