The history of Asia is filled with


crucial events and cultural
advances. Battles decided the fate
of nations, wars rewrote the
continent's maps, protests rocked
governments, and natural
disasters afflicted the people.
There were also great inventions
that improved everyday life and
new arts to bring enjoyment and
expression to the peoples of Asia.
THE RELIGIONS OF ASIA

Asia is one of the most diverse continents in the


world and it has many religions and cultures
which each have many different ways.

In the East of Asia the main religions are


Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism. In the
West of Asia is mainly the Middle East and the
main religion in Islam.In the South of Asia the
main religion is Hindu and Islam. In the North of
Asia the main religion is Christianism.

Overall the most belived in religion is Islamism


and Hinduism.
THE MIDDLE EAST TRADITIONS AND
the middle east has one of the most popular traditions,
celebrations and weddings and how they celebrate it.
CELEBRATIONS IN ASIA
In the middle east we will start with the arab countries.
So first we have Ramadan: A month on the Islamic calendar
to reverence and commemorate when the Quran (the
religious text of Islam) was revealed to Muhammad. Many
observers fast during daylight hours for the entire month.
In some locations, people decorate streets and houses with
lanterns.
Eid:Eid marks the end of Ramadan, in which Muslims fast
from dawn to sunset for a month. It’s a religious holiday
that’s observed with prayer and a meal with family and
friends all over the world, including many parts of Asia.

Holi:One of the most popular festivals in Asia is Holi. Holi typically falls
in March, on the Hindu calendar’s full moon. Known as the “festival of
colour”, “festival of spring” and “festival of love”, Holi is an ancient
Hindu event that takes place across India celebrating the start of spring.
Holi also signifies the importance of good over evil and it’s a time to end
disputes with others. People gather around bonfires and perform
religious rituals and pray to ward off evil. The following day, people
meet in the streets to throw colourful powder at each other.
Diwali:One of the largest festivals in Asia is Diwali, also known as the
“festival of lights”. Observed by Hindus, Sikhs and Jains around the
world, it commemorates the triumph of good over evil. People celebrate
by lighting candles, setting off fireworks and eating sweet treats with
family.
Chinese New Year, also called Spring Festival, celebrates the beginning of the
new year in the Chinese Lunar calendar. It’s one of the biggest and most
important holidays in China and is celebrated all over the world.
