summative evaluation
Oral communication/Seminar

Task: You must choose a topic that interests you, research the subject, and
present the findings to the class.

 Have a clear introduction to the topic at the beginning of your presentation.


 Develop your ideas and have examples to support your subject.
 Arrange all your information in sequence.
 Use presentation software (Prezi, Power Point) or tangible items for your
presentation. You may show video clips. No more than 10 words per slide, most
of your information must be learned by heart.
 You will have 10 hours of in-class time to prepare your presentation.
 Your presentation will require a lot of preparation and practice, because you
may not read your presentation, but you may use cue cards to keep your ideas in
order.
 Be creative and remember that you are informing the audience about a topic
they are not familiar with.
 Remember to use your presentation strategies as discussed in class. (body
language, eye contact, volume, pace, articulation, confidence...)
 Your presentation should be between 5-7 minutes.

Have your topic APPROVED BY ME + only one person per topic.

These are examples/suggestions of research topics. You should choose something that
interests you so that you could easily convey your information to your audience.
