Greetings!

Please accept the attached resume, which I am submitting for the position of Social Media Copywriter.

I am a lifelong writer, having begun as a junior storyteller, banging out my little works on my parents’
manual typewriter. I began my professional career in journalism in college, writing for the local
newspaper, The Courier Post, while maintaining a full course load at Rutgers University, where I majored
in English. My GPA upon graduation was 3.7, and I was also the Editor of the school newspaper, the
Rutgers Gleaner.

But that’s not all. I’m also a filmmaker. I’ve produced hundreds of social media marketing videos for
such giants as Yelp and Zillow, and created the web series Living Tomorrow for the Discovery Channel. I
also wrote the screenplay for the full-length motion picture The Long Home, which starred and was
directed by James Franco, as well as co-starring such major names as Josh Hartnett and Courtney Love.

From this multi-disciplinary background, I am ideally suited to meet the demands of a Social Media
Copywriter position. I understand the principles of SEO marketing, such as the importance of crafting
compelling, keyword-dense copy that assures landing on the first page of search results for a given
query (after all, 90% of users never venture beyond the first page of search results). I understand that
search engine algorithms favor websites that are frequently updated with fresh content, and they
likewise give added weight to video content over written content.

I am confident that my two decades of experience crafting quality content of all kinds will prove a
valuable asset to your organization. I am reliable, imaginative and capable of juggling multiple tasks
while respecting tight deadlines. Please take a look at the resume and get back to me at your
convenience to arrange a time to talk further. I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Steve Janas
