Present Simple:
Use: to talk about routine, habits, timetable, feelings, facts
Affirmative: He, She, It + v(s), (es), (ies) He eats meat. He doesn’t eat meat.
I, They, We, You + v.inf I play football. I don’t play football.
Negative: doesn’t + v. ------ don’t + v.
Interrogative: Does + he, she, it + v. .? -------- Do + you, they, I + v. …?
Yes, they go to the cinema. Do they go to the cinema?
Yes, she watches tv. Does she watch TV?
Spelling rules:
*verbs end with (-ch – sh – ss – x – o) (watch – wash – pass – fix – go), we add –es (watches
– washes – passes – fixes – goes)
we (fix) fix our car. He fixes his car.
*verbs end with a consonant and the letter (y), we cross –y and add –ies. Cry - cries, study -
studies, fly - flies
play - plays, pay - pays cook - cooks write - writes
Keywords: always – usually – sometimes – often – rarely – seldom – never (before the verb)
I go to the school. (always) I always go to the school.
He always flies his kite. (negative) He never flies his kite.
