Operation management
Have you ever imagined how institutions manage their logistical operations
efficiently and smoothly to all departments, divisions and individuals, despite
the various challenges?

How do they organize logistical chains and purchasing, warehousing and

supply operations from various countries of the world without confusion?

Yes, I am talking here about operations management.

I’m going now to talk about three points:

1) Brief of operation management

2) What is the difference between supply chain and logistics?

3) The importance of Operation management in Royal Navy of oman

Operations management is a very important major and it is the heart of every

organisation, and there is hardly an organisation that does not have this
specialization.

Operations management is concerned with the administrative field of

designing and controlling production processes for goods and services from
beginning to end.

It includes several departments that work in an integrated manner, each

department complementing the other, including: logistics, quality assurance
control, procurement, supply chains, and warehouses.
What is deference between supply chain and logistics?

Supply Chain: A supply chain is a set of methods used to efficiently integrate

suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, warehouses, and retail to distribute
products or services from raw materials to the end consumer.

Logistics: Logistics is part of supply chain management and it refers to the

management of the flow of goods, information, and resources between the
point of origin and the point of consumption. It involves planning,
implementing, and controlling various activities such as transportation,
warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment, and more. Logistics
ensures that the right products are available at the right place, at the right
time, and in the right quantity with minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency.

How can Royal Navy of Oman benefit from the Operations Management
department?

By effectively using the concepts of managing operations, supply chains,

inventory, procurement and logistics:

1- We can improve the efficiency of logistics operations, reduce costs, and

reduce waste.

2- Improve the procurement of equipment and supplies at reasonable prices.

3-Improving inventory management to ensure resources are available when

needed, so we avoid stock shortages.

In conclusion, The goal is to raise the products to a higher level of accuracy,

quality and safety. And ensuring its availability when needed without shortage.
And benefiting from modern technologies such as artificial intelligence and
advanced programs to provide individuals, divisions and departments with
everything they require.
