EVENT ASSOCIATIONS
GENERAL GUIDELINES
1. The decision of the judges shall be final and binding for all events.
2. In case of delays caused because of malfunction of any equipment malfunction provided by the IIT
Kharagpur, the participant will be allowed to restart the performance or continue from the point of
interruption. Grace time, if required, will be given as per judges’ discretion.
3. Penalties will be deducted from the total judging score of the team.
4. In case of violation of the time limit, participants will be penalized or disqualified by the judges.
5. Late submissions may lead to disqualification of the participant if the judges do so.
6. Script and audio submission deadlines shall be adhered to strictly.
7. College Championship criteria: 1st position: 100% points, 2nd position: 75% points, 3rd position:
50% points, Rest: 20% points
8. In case of a tie, all the tied teams will be awarded points as per the above criteria.
9. Total points after all results have been declared will be checked for each college and the one with
maximum points shall be awarded the college championship trophy.
10. Hitch Hike: Nation Wide Prelims and Eliminations winners shall get to perform directly in the finale
of Nukkad, I Me Myself, SF Idol, Shake a Leg, Nrityakala, Centrifuge, Two for a Tango, Poetry slam
and Hilarity ensues.
11. Beat it and Rapmania winners of Hitch Hike shall get to skip the showcase round.

Spring Fest reserves the right to make final decisions on all matters related to the event, including but
not limited to rules, schedules, event modifications, and dispute resolutions, in order to ensure a fair,
safe, and enjoyable experience for all participants and attendees.

DRAMATICS
1. NUKKAD : STREET PLAY COMPETITION

Exploiting the power of a street gathering, nukkad or street plays have been the medium of the voice
of the people from time immemorial. Unleash your creativity on the pavement stage! Join the street
play competition, where your voice becomes a powerful instrument for social change, blending art
and activism in the most impactful way.

TEAM LIMIT: 6-20 excluding 2 instrumentalists (optional)


TIME LIMIT: Pre-finals: 15 Minutes, Finals: 20 Minutes (Empty Stage to Empty Stage)

SCRIPT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 22nd January, 2024


SUBMISSION FORMAT: Mail the script at dramatics.sf2024@gmail.com with the subject “Nukkad
Script: <College Name>”.

RULES:
1. Teams are expected to perform at an open-air venue, on a stage with an audience on all sides.
2. The play should be in Hindi/ English.
3. Usage of fire, water, or smoke is not allowed.
4. Gulaal or any props, if used, must be cleared off by the participants after their performance within
the performance time allotted to them.
5. Any instance of vulgarity or disturbing content of any order will lead to a forceful halt of
performance and immediate disqualification.
6. Only live music is allowed. Teams will have to bring their own instruments.

2. RANGMANCH : STAGE PLAY COMPETITION

Attention all aspiring playwrights and actors! Embrace the spotlight, bring your captivating scripts and
stellar performances to our theater stage, where creativity meets the spotlight. Let your storytelling
prowess shine as you engage audiences with your narrative depth and theatrical brilliance!

TEAM LIMIT: Minimum 5; Additionally, maximum 1 for music and 3 people for lights
TIME LIMIT: Pre-finals: 15 Minutes, Finals: 50 Minutes (Empty Stage to Empty Stage)

SCRIPT AND AUDIO SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 22nd January, 2024


SUBMISSION FORMAT: Mail the script and backing audios at dramatics.sf2024@gmail.com with the
subject “Rangmanch Script: <College Name>”.

RULES:
1. The Stage Area will be approximately 20ft x 36ft
2. Language of the play can be English/Hindi. Mime is allowed.
3. Microphone and backstage mics for narration, lights, and a laptop to play audio will be provided.
4. Recorded vocals are not allowed, only instrumental music is allowed.
5. The teams are expected to bring their own music on pen drive or mobile phone for the play.
6. In case of malfunctioning of any equipment provided, the team will be allowed to repeat their
performance from the last scene change or from the point of disruption. Grace time provided is
upon the judge’s discretion.
7. All costumes and accessories are to be arranged by the participating team. The organizing
committee shall not be responsible for the security of items left behind after the performance.
8. No naked flames or live animals are allowed on stage.
9. Any instance of vulgarity or disturbing content of any order will lead to a forceful halt of
performance and immediate disqualification.

3. I ME MYSELF : MONO ACTING COMPETITION

Attention solo performers and passionate actors! Step into the spotlight at Spring Fest's monoacting
competition. Showcase your individual talent and theatrical prowess on stage. Bring alive diverse
characters and narratives, captivating the audience with your solo performance, passion, and the
power of storytelling!

TEAM LIMIT: 1 (solo event); Additionally, maximum 2 people to assist with sound and lights.
TIME LIMIT: 4 Minutes (Empty Stage to Empty Stage)

SCRIPT SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 22nd January, 2024


SUBMISSION FORMAT: Mail the script at dramatics.sf2024@gmail.com with the subject “Monoact
Script: <Participant Name>, <SFID>”.

RULES:
1. This is an individual event and will take place in 1 round. The participants have to present a mono
act on any theme.
2. Language of the act can be English/Hindi.
3. Participants can bring their own music for the act in a pen drive or mobile phone, but recorded
vocals are not allowed.
4. Instrumental music is allowed but the participants must bring their own instruments.
5. All clothes and accessories are to be arranged by the participants. The organizing committee is
responsible for the infrastructural facilities only and shall not be responsible for the security of
items left behind in green rooms or on stage.
6. No naked flames or live animals are allowed on stage.
7. Any instance of vulgarity or disturbing content of any order will lead to a forceful halt of
performance and immediate disqualification.

4. DUMBSTRUCK : SILENT ACT COMPETITION

Calling all silent storytellers and expressive performers! Embrace the art of mime and through
gestures, expressions, and movements, convey narratives without words on our stage. Showcase
your creativity, precision, and emotional depth in this silent art form, mesmerizing audiences with the
power of mime!

TEAM LIMIT: 1 (Solo Event); Additionally, maximum 2 people to assist with sounds and lights.
TIME LIMIT: 4 Minutes (Empty Stage to Empty Stage)

RULES:
1. Performance should be a non-verbal act.
2. This is an individual event and will take place in 1 round.
3. No recorded music, recorded sounds, musical instruments, recognizable words, indicative
makeup, indicative costumes or props are allowed.

mesmerize the audience with your unique style, rhythmic precision, and captivating moves!

prowess through intricate movements, gestures, and rhythmic footwork. Let the stage become your
canvas as you evoke traditions and tales, enchanting audiences with the beauty and grace of
classical dance!

styles!

RULES:
PRELIMS: Showcase Round
1. Dancers will be called to perform one by one in front of the judges.
2. Top scorers will be marked and announced by the judges at the end.
3. Accessories, costumes and props will have to be arranged by the participants.
4. Top 16 teams will be chosen from this round.

PRE-FINALS (Top 16)


Teams qualifying for this round will be going against each other in a face-off competition. The order of
the teams will be decided through a draw system and the battles would be as follows:

RULES:
1. Participants should also get their submitted audios on a pen drive or their mobile phone. Live
music is not allowed.
2. The event is strictly a duet dance competition and there shouldn't be any extra person on stage at
any point during the performance.
3. Any combination of two people irrespective of gender is allowed.
4. Any dance form is allowed.
5. Stage specification - Area will be approximately 20ft x 25ft.
6. In case of malfunctioning of any equipment provided, the team will be allowed to repeat their
performance from the beginning or from the point of disruption that the team wishes, with the
consent of the judges.
7. Accessories, costumes and props will have to be arranged by the participants.

1. SF IDOL : SOLO SINGING COMPETITION

amidst a vibrant atmosphere, where your melodious voice takes center stage. Embrace the spotlight,
captivate hearts, and leave an indelible mark with your musical prowess at this prestigious event!

BACKTRACK SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 22nd January, 2024


SUBMISSION FORMAT: Mail the backing track at music.sf2024@gmail.com with the subject “SF Idol:

RULES:
1. Participants can perform any number of songs (in Hindi, English or both) within the time limit.
2. Participants can perform with one instrumental accompaniment or with a backing track but the
judging will be done solely on the basis of vocal performance.
3. Performers can be disqualified on the spot for misconduct, obscenity or foul language.

2. LAKE SIDE DREAMS : ACOUSTIC JAMMING COMPETITION

Attention acoustic maestros! Step into the limelight where your raw musical talent becomes the focal
point. Bring your strings and rhythms to life in an inviting atmosphere, captivating the audience with
your soulful tunes. Join us for an unforgettable experience of harmonies and melodies that resonate
beyond boundaries

TEAM LIMIT: 1 for solo and 2-12 for group event


TIME LIMIT: 7 Minutes for Solo and 15 Minutes for Group performance, inclusive of sound check

RULES:
1. Only songs in English and/or Hindi are permissible.
2. Solo and Group event will be conducted and judged separately.
3. Only non-electrical musical instruments (guitars, flutes etc.) are allowed. However one synthesizer
is allowed per entry. A bass guitar can be used without a processor.
4. Patch change for synthesizers is not allowed in the middle of a song.
5. The following equipments will be provided by us: Power supply for synthesizer, Microphones and
sounds

3. BEAT IT : BEATBOXING COMPETITION

Hey beatboxing champs! Get ready to unleash your rhythmic mastery at our electrifying beatboxing
battle. Command the stage with your unique sounds and jaw-dropping beats in an atmosphere
pulsating with energy. Join us for an epic showdown, where every sound you create becomes a
mesmerizing performance that echoes talent and innovation!

TEAM LIMIT: 1 (Solo Event)


TIME LIMIT: 2 Minute Battles

RULES:
1. This will be a 1vs1 battle rounds among the top 16 participants wherein each beatboxer would be
given 2 minutes each and the winners will be decided by the judges.
2. Top 16 participants will be decided by an initial showcase round where the judges will score all the
participants based on the given criteria.
3. The winner from each battle will be promoted to the next battle and the opponents will be decided
by the judges in whichever way they seem fit.
4. No musical instruments will be allowed. In case it is found, the participant will be disqualified.
5. In case judges are not able to decide, another 30 seconds will be provided to each participant to
perform. It will be avoided whenever possible.

4. RAPMANIA : RAP BATTLE

Calling all lyrical wordsmiths and rhyme wizards! Enter the ultimate rap battleground where your
verses rule and rhymes reign supreme. Set the stage on fire with your poetic flow and lyrical prowess
in a showdown that celebrates the essence of hip-hop. Join us for an intense clash of words and
beats, where your rhymes carve a path to victory in this thrilling rap battle!

TEAM LIMIT: 1 (Solo Event)

LYRICS SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 22nd January, 2024


BACKTRACK SUBMISSION DEADLINE (If required): 22nd January, 2024
SUBMISSION FORMAT: Mail the audio & lyrics at music.sf2024@gmail.com with the subject
“Rapmania: <Participant Name>, <SFID>”.

RULES:
1. The first round will be a showcase round from which top 8 participants will be chosen by the
judges.
2. Time limit for this performance is 5 minutes, inclusive of setup time.
3. Participants can either opt for a beatboxer along with them or can bring their beats/rhythm for rap
along with them on a pen drive or mobile phone.
4. The next round will be among the top 8 participants where in rappers shall be given a theme/topic
and 30 minutes to prepare a write-up on the topic before they perform.
5. A common beat shall be given to all the rappers for their performance.
6. Top 2 participants from this round will be promoted to a final round which will be a roast battle
between them.
7. Rules and criteria for this battle will be decided by the judges and announced on the spot.
8. Any sort of racist, sexist or offensive slurs will lead to immediate disqualification

COMPETITION

your musical finesse. Join us for an exhilarating showcase of instrumental brilliance, where each note
you play becomes a testament to your musical genius

BACKTRACK SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 22nd January, 2024

less travelled: <Participant Name>, <SFID>”.

RULES:
1. All music genres are allowed. Original compositions, arrangements, or covers are also allowed
2. The instrument for playing in the event has to be carried by the participant.
3. Back tracks are allowed but they have to be carried in a pen drive or mobile phone to the venue.

6. RETROWAVE : MUSIC REMIX COMPETITION

Revive the classics in our Retro Remix Competition! Dive into nostalgia and re-invent timeless tunes
with your unique twist. Show off your remixing skills, blend eras, and create a musical fusion that
resonates with both the old and the new.

SUBMISSION FORMAT: Mail the audio at music.sf2024@gmail.com with the subject “Retrowave:
<Participant Name>, <SFID>”.

RULES:
1. Participants need to submit their Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) file of the software used in
music production. (For Example: If you are using FL Studio; send the .flp file)
2. The participants need to submit the judging entries (tracks prepared) in any uncompressed audio
format. (The audio file sent for judging shall be the same as the DAW file submitted.)
3. The original tracks selected shall not be remixes. Copying and stealing the remixes will lead to
disqualification. If found using pre-looped tracks/pre-extended mixes/re-cued tracks/pre-pitched
tracks will be disqualified.

3. In finals, a group will be required to perform at least 4 songs of their choice within 40 minutes

4. Whenever the judge blows a whistle/ring a bell/give any form of sign, the speaker will have to

4. In the finals, in each round, one person from the team will act out the clue and the others will
guess.

7. A maximum of 45 seconds will be given to the teams to guess the correct movie name and

11. In each of the 3 rounds, every team shall be given 3 clues to enact and each person should be an

13. If the team fails to guess the correct answer in the stipulated time, 10 seconds will be added to the

Handlers are required to be registered attendees of the convention, and Spring Fest can not
