TIMUN MAS

In ancient times, in a village in Central Java, there lived a middle-aged widow


named Bok Sirni. She has lived alone since her husband left her and she has no children. One
day, he was visited by a giant who would give him a child. Condition, when the child is 17 years
old must be handed back to him to eat. Mbok Sirni Agree. The giant gave cucumber seeds to
plant and care for. After two weeks, one of the cucumbers planted was the largest and glistening
golden. Then, Ms. Sirni sliced the cucumber carefully. Unexpectedly, the contents of the
cucumber was a beautiful baby named Timun Mas.
Time passed, Timun Mas had grown into a beautiful and beautiful girl. One day,
when Bok Sirni and Timun Mas were looking for firewood in the forest they met a giant who
wanted to fulfill his promise. Mbok Sirni was very afraid of losing Timun Mas, she made a
promise so that the giant would come in two years. The giant agreed. He thought the older he
got, the more delicious Timun Mas would be eaten. Mbok Sirni loved Timun Mas even more. On
the other hand, he felt anxious and sad when he remembered his promise.
One night Mbak Sirni had a dream. In his dream it was stated that in order for
his child to be safe he had to meet a hermit on Bald Mountain. Without thinking much, in the
morning Mbok Sirni went straight to Gundul Mountain to meet the ascetic who gave her four
small packages, namely cucumber seeds, needles, salt and shrimp paste as an antidote. Arriving
at home, Mbok Sirni gave the four packages from the ascetic earlier to Timun Mas and asked her
to pray.
In the morning the giant came again to collect the promise. Timun Mas was asked
to leave through the back door by Mbok Sirni. The giant saw Timun Mas coming out the back
door, he chased her. While running, Timun Mas remembered the four packages she had kept. He
also spread cucumber seeds in the forest. Miraculously, the cucumber seeds became a cucumber
field full of fruit. The giant eats cucumbers which increase his strength. Then Timun Mas sowed
the needles. In an instant, the needles turned into extremely tall and sharp bamboo trees. The tree
injured the giant's leg, but the giant continued to chase with bloody feet. Seeing that the giant
was still chasing him, Timun Mas opened the package of salt and sprinkled it on him. Instantly,
the forest became a vast ocean. The giant is able to pass it. Timun Mas opened the shrimp paste,
immediately a boiling sea was formed. The giant was unable to save himself, he died in the sea
of mud. Finally, Timun Mas gave thanks and she was able to live happily with Mbok Sirni.

even though our request is impossible to get.
