The key to successful treatments begins with the rapport we build with
our pet guardians. Technology such as telemedicine and texting for
counsel is a powerful tool that increases people’s access to care for their
pets. It also sets the veterinary care team up for success. Telemedicine
allows me to have in depth conversations in an environment and setting
where pet guardians can both learn and communicate effectively. While
communications via text can help owners make informed decisions that
would help prevent a lot of issues in our pets. I’ve learned how texting
in real time increases access to our patient’s need and supporting our
pet guardians in a timely and efficient way. In addition, these new
forms of communication are a powerful adjunct to support my
colleagues that manage complex cases in the clinic. I find consulting in
this way very rewarding. I get to think outside of the box to help in a
wide range of unique circumstances. I also get to use my favorite niches
in vet med, which is animal behavior, pain management, dermatology,
urgent care and GI cases. I look forward to exploring this opportunity
