1.0 CALL TO ORDER

The meeting was called to order by the chairman at exactly Info

4.0 ADOPTION OF THE AGENDA

The Adoption of the agenda was moved by Engr. Sunday General Secretary
Oguntunde and was seconded by Engr. Adebayo
Oluwashina.

5.0 CHAIRMAN’S OPENING REMARK

The Branch Chairman thanked all members for their Chairman, Vice
supports. He explained the rationale behind not having Chairman, General
election at the AGM in Abuja, saying resolution was on Secretary and Assistant
course and an Extra-ordinary General Meeting (EGM) may General Secretary
be scheduled before the end of December, 2023which
would centered on voting.He also explain why Ikeja Branch
came 10th position at the group Dynamics competition.He
said the Group Dynamics packaging and preparation would
 now be under the supervision of the secretariat.

6.0 READING AND ADOPTION OF THE MINUTES OF

THE LAST MEETING

Minutes of the meeting was read and an observation raised

General Secretary
that attendance ought to be attached. Subsequently, Engr.
MacGregor Olusanya FNSE moved the motion for the
adoption of the meeting which was seconded by Engr.
Olawunmi.

7.0 MATTERS ARISING

7.1 International Trip: Chairman and Vice

Vice Chairman said visas was denied to all attendees, Chairman
though steps were taken to enable participating team to
attend another program scheduledfor 2024. Some attendees
wished to opt out and get a refund. The Branch Chairman
said that the consultant makes an uncommon mistake.
Nevertheless, reapplication option was being considered
and those that do not want to reapply wouldget a refund.

Engr, Oguntunde however said Visa denial has become an

occurrence for sometimes now. He suggested that there
would be a need to call all the attendees and tendered an
apology and such consultant should be fired, but chairman
said we need to complete the process on ground before
firing such consultant.

Engr. Adesola suggested that we need to look at the process

of refunding money as the losses incurred by the attendees
are often high. Engr. Akintayo Akintola FNSE, called for
caution especially with the instability of the currency. .He
suggested the direct application and processing rather than
engaging any agent.

7.2 Vehicle Acquisition All

The Chairman hinted that though he said a good vehicle
which cost 8 million naira but there was no fund to
purchase it. The house unanimously agreed on general
contributions by all members towards the vehicle
acquisition. The sum of.#10,000 was pegged for corporate
members while Fellows are expected to support with
#20,000 each. Graduate Members are to contribute #5,000

8.0 Issues of the Day
8.1 2023 NSE National Engineering Conference: Chairman
said that members were accommodated in 4 different
Info
hotels. Also, the branch bus was mobilized to convey
members to & Fro Abuja at a subsidized rate of #10,000
while YEFoN members boarded for free
He concluded that though election was not held during the
AGM, nevertheless, the overall remarks on the conference
was satisfactory.

8.2 Ralph Alabi Memorial Lecture:

The branch chairman said that the memorial lecture was a
great success.

8.3 Welfare: End of the Year Party;
Engr. Oguntunde suggested of suspending the party for
now due to the investiture of the incoming president
scheduled for January 2024. Hence, the Branch Chairman Info
said that an ad-hoc committee would decide and revert.

8.4 Biomedical Research:

Vice Chairman said she has contacted the Dean of faculty
.of engineering, University of Lagos. She concluded by
saying that the proposed duration of the project is 6-9
months, however, detailed modalities would be worked out Vice Chairman
by January 2024;

8.5 Exco Retreat: To be done in January 2024

8.6 Correspondence:
Engr. O.E.S Ajani FNSE birthday on the 1st of January, Info
2024 with retirement while Engr. MacGregor Odusanya,
FNSE would be celebrating his birthday with retirement
from civil service in December, 2023 Info
9.0 Technical Presentation:
Engr. Pastor Vincent Osolake gave the presentation titled:
Building leadership capacity in engineering space

10,0 Any Other Business: All

10.1 Engr. Yusuf invites YEFoN members to their 2 events. He
also said seminar is scheduled for the intending corporate
membership in January 2024.
10.2 Engr. O.E.S Ajani FNSE supported the branch by picking
20 copies of the calendar, he also said that Engr. Daramola Info
was made special adviser to the governor on infrastructural.

also suggested encouraging member to go into research and
come up with something meaningful.
