CHAPTER 3. GEOLOGICAL CONDITION OF PROJECT AREA

3.1 GEOLOGICAL SUCCESSION OF STUDY AREA

3.1.1 Geological Succession of Study Area
This study uses the geological succession shown in Table 3.1.1 from the geological condition
examined by field and drilling surveys.

w
potion Serpentinite consisted by gravel and soils
most hard potion of Serpentinite consisted by
massive and
P-1 fresh minerals of peridotite
unaltered
most of cracks are closed without weathering

hard potion of Serpentinite consisted by fresh

cracky and
P-2 minerals of peridotite and calcareous veins
unaltered
cracks are dominant and closed
main portion of Serpentinite consisted with

altered minerals like serpentine

P-3 brecciated many cracks fracturing rock body softer than
original hardness
weathering parts often distributes along cracks
sheared potion of serpentinite with
sheared and consolidated matrix and fractured fragments
P-4
matrix supported distributes thin layer or vein-like shape
abundant at water regulating dam site
sheared potion of serpentinite with
unconsolidated matrix like clay and fractured
P-5 sheared with clay fragments
distributes vein-like shape
abundant structure is NW-SE and E-W strike
