Job description:

Associate, Finance & Operations


MFX is a socially-oriented company that supports impact investing with affordable hedging
products and risk management services. MFX’s clients include leading Microfinance Investment
Funds and Impact Investors worldwide. Working at MFX, you can expect to interact with
professional colleagues from the US International Development Finance Corporation, the
Development Finance Institute of Canada, investors in Europe, Latin America, and Singapore,
and leading multinational commercial banks.

Founded in 2009, MFX gives impact investors the ability to protect themselves against the risk
of currency movement. Using hedging, currency risk can be taken out of the impact investment
value chain, thus creating a more stable, secure impact investment business model.

Headquartered in downtown Washington DC, MFX employs a team of 12 globally and is


currently looking to set up and grow a support team in India. We are initially looking to hire 2
employees with a base in either Mumbai or Delhi.

Job Details

The candidate will work closely with and support the CFO, Manager of Operations and
Controller (all based in the US) in foreign exchange back/middle office activities and in
accounting and finance. This would include building and managing key relationships with
external stakeholders and shareholders. The position requires working with MFXs banking
counterparties, development finance organizations and microfinance/impact investing clients.

This is a multi-faceted role which is both challenging and extremely hands on.

Responsibilities include:

 Learn and develop expertise in the various facets of the MFX organization and work closely
with the finance and operations team to develop the finance organization as we grow.
 Ensure accurate swap contract execution, settlements and monitoring (collections &
payments) including documentation and accounting
 Support team on day to day operations
 Assist clients on derivatives operations
 Assist with counterparty management and onboarding
 Assist with risk reporting and compliance activities
 Desire to participate in the growth of MFX, gain a deep understanding of the FX derivatives
space and work with an entrepreneurial team environment
 Ability to travel to the US for training and team integration purposes

Experience and Qualifications:

 Bachelor’s degree: Required


 Experience: Fresh graduate
 Interest to grow within a currency hedging fund with high degree of accuracy and
attention to detail.
 Chartered Accountant: Preferred
 Public accounting experience: Preferred
 Strong interpersonal and communications skills

Compensation and Benefits:

 Base Salary: Rs 15lacs p.a.


 Performance Bonus: upto 25% of base salary
 Benefits: Vacation 20d, Health/Life Insurance, 3% 401k (or alternate) Pension
