I. Learning Competency
Divides whole numbers by decimals up to 2 decimal places and vice versa.
M6NS-Ie-111.4
II. General Objectives
a.Content Standard
Demonstrates understanding of the four fundamental operations involving fractions and
decimals.
b.Performance Standard
Is able to apply the four fundamental operations involving fractions and decimals in
mathematical problems and real-life situations
III. Specific Objective
At the end of this lesson, 80% of the learners must have divide whole numbers by decimals
up to 2 decimal places.
IV. Subject Matter
A. Topic: Dividing Decimals
B. References: MELCs 2020 p. 224
21st Century MATHletes 6 textbook pp. 187-198
C. Instructional Materials: Drill Cards, Visual aids, Pictures
D. Value Focus: Cooperation & Collaboration
V. Learning Task
A. Preliminary Activity/ies
1. Drill & Review(game)
“Answer Race”
Mechanics:
a. Divides the class into 2 groups.
b. Teacher has prepared drill cards about multiplying decimals in the power of 10.
c. in a time of 1 minute, learners from each group will race to open the drill cards and race to
the board, post the card and answer. Continue until the time is up.
d. The group with the most correct answers will be the winner. (Obj. 2)

2. Motivation
(Show the 2 pictures of Sari-sari store owned by Nang Ani and Nang Malyn respectively.)
Are you familiar with these pictures?
What are these pictures show?
What are usually sold in these stores?
Have you tried selling also? (obj.1: ICT & Entrepreneur)
What are the goods that are repacked less than a kilo?
Why do you think they are doing it? (obj. 3)
3. Presentation
Read the problem (I do You do, We do):
Nang Ani has a small sari-sari store. Every time she buys a 50-kilogram of sugar, she repacks
it into smaller bags weighing 1.25 kilo. How many small plastic bags are needed by Nang
Ani?
4. Discussion
 What is asked in the problem?
The number of small plastic bags needed by Nang Ani
 What are the given facts?
50 kg- sugar that nang Ani bought.
1.25 kg- sugar repacked in smaller plastic bags
 What operation/s to be used?
Division
 What is the number sentence?
50 ÷ 1.25 = n
 Solution/ solve To divide whole numbers by decimals:
1. Change the divisor by whole number by
moving the decimal point to the rightmost place.
2. Move the decimal point of the dividend to as
many places as the decimal point in the divisor
is moved.
3. divide like whole numbers.

 Check through multiplication

 What is the answer?

Nang Ani will need 40 smaller plastic bags.

Let’s have these examples

a. 24 ÷ 0.4 = b. 60 ÷ 2.50 = c. 86 ÷ 0.03 =

B. Activity Proper
 Pair Activity
Find a pair and you help each other to answer the following activities:
1. 35 ÷ 2.5 2. 9 ÷ 3.6= 3. 45 ÷ 2.25 =
Group Activity
1. Group the class into 3.
2. Let each group choose their leader, secretary, and reporter.
3. The teacher will give each group their assigned activity.
4. After they finished, exchange their activity to the other groups to check their work.
Note:
Have a reminder that each group members will collaborate and cooperate to answer the
equation. (obj. 4 & obj. 6)
In a group activity, cooperation of the group is needed.
Why do you need to cooperate? (obj. 5)

C. Post Activity
1. Individual Activity
Answer individually
Find the quotient:
1. 64 ÷ 0.02 = 2. 25 ÷ 2.5 = 3. 39 ÷ 0.25 =

2. Generalization
How do we divide whole numbers by decimals and vice versa?(obj.3)

3. Application
Nasha barrowed P150.00 from Tyay Malyn to be repaid at P 7.50 a week. How many weeks
will it take her to repay Tyay Malyn?
a. What is asked in the problem?
b. What are the given?
c.What operation to use?
d. What is the number sentence?
e. Solution/solve:
f. Check (Through multiplication)
g. What is the answer?

VI. Evaluation
Find the quotient:
1. 45 ÷ 0.06 =n
2. 15 ÷ 1.5=n
3. 48 ÷ 2.4 =n
4. 75 ÷ 0.25=n
5. 36 ÷ 1.2 =n

VII. Home Activity/ Assignment

Divide the following:
1. 264÷ 0.1= 2. 352 ÷ 0.01= 3. 260 ÷ 0.001=
