Brief Description

This feature introduces 4-branch diversity reception per sector, with maximum ratio baseband combining of four
uplink signals.

Closed loop UL power control complements the basic open loop UL power control. It is based on eNodeB’s
measurements of UL signal level and quality. Of the measurement data the eNodeB determines an UL power increase
or decrease step and commands the UE (user equipment) to increase or decrease the current UL transmit power by
this step

64QAM(DL) : Increase of the DL peak rate by 50% as compared to 16QAM scenario.

16QAM: Increase of the peak rate by 100% compared to QSPK, around 70% increased spectral efficiency.
This feature description LTE37: Ciphering consists user data security between UE and eNodeB for radio layer 2 (u-
plane data) and radio layer 3 (RRC, control plane data).
Increase UL peak rate by 16QAM modulation
CQI (channel quality indicator) is an indicator of the current downlink channel conditions as seen by the UE. In LTE,
the user equipment (UE) reports CQIs to assist the eNodeB in selecting an appropriate modulation and coding
scheme (MCS) to be used for the downlink transmission.
With the LTE619: Interference aware UL scheduling the eNodeB provides improved cell edge performance in UL for
low loaded cells.
With the LTE619: Interference aware UL scheduling the eNodeB provides improved cell edge performance in UL for
low loaded cells.
The LTE1495: Fast uplink link adaptation feature improves the uplink performance with a faster link adaptation by
immediately selecting the appropriate modulation and coding scheme (MCS).
The basic idea of the LTE1800: Downlink interference shaping feature is to shape in frequency domain (FD) the
resource use in fractionally loaded cells. The main objective of this feature is to make the downlink (DL) interference
generated by a fractionally loaded cell more predictable.

The number of OFDM symbols used for PDCCH is adapted to the required amount of CCEs (control channel elements).
This feature provides detailed subscriber-oriented information at a call-level for one or more specific UEs. The
operator can activate subscriber and equipment tracing for a limited period of time for specific analysis
When this feature is activated on cell-level, all UEs served by that cell and provided with required capabilites are
configured to make periodic intra-frequency measurements and measurement reports.
With this feature it is possible to follow the connections ongoing in a cell and verify the intended functionalities
within a cell.
This feature introduces measurement reports that will be used for network optimization purposes.
The LTE1697: Timing Advance Histogram PM-counter feature introduces timing advance (TA) histogram
performance measurements.
LTE1914: RIP (Received Interference Power) measurement report extension/Support RIP initiated alarms feature
allows the user to measure RIP through cell trace.
The LTE1931: Measurement Report addition with UE Uplink SINR feature enables the eNB to support UE UL SINR
measurement. The UE UL SINR measurement report is configured using NetAct
The LTE1935: PM counters for E-RAB HO incoming; RRC/ERAB setup time feature implements additional PM
counters.
The measurement report is used for radio coverage optimization purpose both for intra-LTE and Inter-RAT.
The LTE2054: Measurement Report addition with PDCP KPI counter subset feature extends the LTE1053: Real-time
KPI-monitoring with Traffica usage
Flexi Multiradio BTS has integrated antenna line supervision in Radio Module to control antenna line condition by
Voltage Standing Wave Ratio (VSWR) measurement.
The LTE154: SON LTE BTS Auto Connectivity feature supports faster installations of new or relocated base stations
by an automated IP transport connectivity set-up to the backhaul network.
The automated detection and configuration of unknown cells, respectively sites, supports the self configuration of the
neighbor cell information without operator involvement and reduced planning efforts.
The LTE1491: Additional Layer 1 Performance Measurements feature introduces the new Layer 1 performance
management (PM) counters within the Flexi Multiradio BTS.
The LTE1634: Remote RF-Diagnostics for Flexi Multiradio feature introduces a procedure for testing an RF unit (RF
module and Remote Radio Head) that can be triggered by the Network Management System (NMS) using the NetAct
or BTS Site Manager
The LTE574: IP Transport Network Measurements feature provides active measures and supervision of the
conditions through the mobile backhaul transport network between two points
The LTE610: Timing over Packet Resilience feature enables the usage of two or more Timing over Packet (ToP)
Masters for BTS synchronization purposes
The LTE891: Timing over Packet with phase synchronization feature provides phase synchronization of BTS through
the packet network based on IEEE 1588-2008 PTPv2 protocol.
The Timing over Packet (ToP) solution consists of a Timing Master (ToP Master) at the core site, and Timing Slaves
(ToP Slaves) implemented in the eNBs.
The eNB supports IPv6 for User-and Control- Plane. The Management- and Synchronization-Plane and also Site
Support Equipment (SSE) remain with IPv4. In addition, the eNB supports IPv4 for the IPsec tunnel layer.
The LTE2299: Dual Stack IPv4/IPv6 for S1/X2 feature supports simultaneous use of IPv4 and IPv6 for LTE U/C-plane
on S1/X2 interfaces (dual stack).
The LTE955: IPv6 for Management Plane feature introduces the IPv6 in the management plane (M-plane) only.
The LTE132: VLAN based traffic differentiation feature provides the support of traffic differentiation on layer 2.
This feature eliminates the need for a separate switch device at the eNB site. This means that the operators can
reduce CAPEX and OPEX. The built-in switch is QoS aware.

The eNB allows changing

the QCI (QoS class indicator) value of non-GBR (guaranteed bitrate) QCIs
the ARP (allocation and retention priority) value of all QCIs
the UE-AMBR (aggregate maximum bitrate) of an UE

The LTE10: EPS bearers for conversational voice feature allows to introduce high-quality managed IMS-based
conversational voice services in LTE.
Support of S1 Flex
With LTE7: Support of Multiple EPS Bearer brings the following changes to the packet scheduler functionality:•The
UL/DL scheduler considers up to four non-GBR DRBs per UE (proportional fair treatment of different UEs depending
on radio channel quality and on data availability of (multiple) radio bearers.
LTE9: Service Differentiation brings the following changes to the packet scheduler functionality:•The scheduler in
time domain (UL and DL) applies (configurable) QCI-specific relative weight values to non-GBR bearers. It supports
relatively fair treatment of different UEs depending on weight values and data availability of a single or multiple data
radio bearer.
In addition to the standardized QCI characteristics of the 3GPP Release 8/9, an operator of a network is free to define
QCI characteristics particular to the network in 3GPP.
The LTE1042: Nominal Bitrate for non-GBR bearers feature introduces nominal bit rate values that can be assigned to
non-GBR bearers.
The Flexi Multiradio BTS supports DRX in status RRC-CONNECTED with long DRX cycles. The DRX functionality can
considerably reduce the UE power consumption.

DRX weights in DL and UL scheduling if a UE is configured with extended settings of the long DRX cycle
The LTE585: Smart DRX feature brings the following changes to the packet scheduler functionality: •scheduling of
specific UL grants to force restart the short DRX cycle timer•weighting factor handlings for prioritizing and de-
prioritizing UL/DL scheduling

used when a UE has a QCI1 bearer active.
The CSFB (Circuit-Switched Fallback) function allows for a service based redirection from LTE to UTRAN or to
GERAN during the call setups.
Coverage based inter-RAT Packet switched (PS) handover from LTE to WCDMA
LTE1073: Measurement based redirect to UTRAN provides the means to send an UE to WCDMA by UE Context
Release with Redirect after the UE has performed measurements on WCDMA.
The LTE1196: RAN Information Management for WCDMA feature allows transferring information between the
source and target cell by the core network.
PS handover-based CS fallback from LTE to UTRAN (WCDMA) for mobile-originated and mobile-terminated call setup
is supported.
Service continuity for data service when moving from LTE to GSM.
The CS fallback with redirect to GSM as well as the regular redirect to GSM is enhanced by system information.
The LTE1140 Intra-frequency load balancing feature requires the DL scheduler to provide measurements of an
average, available number of PRBs for the traffic with data for transmission.
The LTE487: Idle Mode Mobility Load Balancing feature introduces new mechanisms for Idle mode load balancing.
This feature is very similar to CS Fallback with redirection, LTE562.To grant proper handling of emergency call UE
will be redirected from LTE to another CS capable RAT (WCDMA or GSM).
RoHC (Robust Header Compression) is the technique used to compress the RTP/UDP/IP headers.
The LTE907: TTI Bundling feature allows transmitting a single transport block in space of four consecutive UL
subframes, which leads to increased energy per transmitted bit and therefore, improved uplink link budget.
The LTE1113: eICIC - macro feature introduces the almost blank subframes (ABS) in the macro cell during which no
user data is allowed on the PDSCH.
The LTE1434: Flexi Multiradio BTS Antenna Rx RF-sniffing feature enables a Flexi Multiradio BTS to monitor the
spectrum in order to detect radio frequency interference (RFI) and radio disturbance in the peripheral radio
frequency (RF) path.
The LTE2556: Flexi Multiradio BTS Rx-sniffing Enhancements feature •increases the quality of Rx RF-sniffing tests by
adding new use cases for external and self-interference detection and PIM fault localization
The UEs with the Secondary component carrier (SCC) activated are scheduled by separate and coordinated DL
schedulers. Only non-GBR data could be sent via SCC.
The UEs with the Secondary component carrier (SCC) activated are scheduled by separate and coordinated DL
schedulers. Only non-GBR data could be sent via SCC.
This feature LTE496: Support of QCI 2,3 and 4 allows the operator to offer GBR (guaranteed bit rate) features with
higher bit rates as the QCI = 1 service.
This feature LTE497: Smart admission Control required to prevent congestion on “guaranteed” resources and this is
for GBR traffic
This feature LTE534: ARP based admission control for E-RABs replaces the permanent admittance (from releases
before) by a withdrawable acceptance. In case of a resource limitation, the eNB may withdraw the admittance from
an already admitted E-RAB to use its resources for admittance of a more important E-RAB
The LTE1231: Operator specific GBR QCIs feature allows the operator configuration, in addition to the standardized
GBR QCIs (1-4), additional GBR QCIs in the operator-specific QCI range.
The operator can define up to 21 additional QCIs for non GBR EPS bearers. The QCI value for each QCI is operator
configurable in the range from 128 to 254.
The LTE2559: ARP-based Partial Admission Control for Handover feature introduces partial radio admission control
during an incoming handover based on the allocation and retention priority (ARP) settings of the bearers in case the
UE consists of multiple bearers in the eRABs-ToBeSetup-List (for example VoLTE or video-call clients)
The LTE2275: PCell Swap feature allows to swap the current primary cell (PCell) of carrier aggregation's UEs to other
PCell, which existed as secondary cell (SCell). As a result, end user's uplink throughput is improved.
The LTE572: IMS Emergency Sessions feature is used to support IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) emergency sessions
for Release 9 (and subsequent) UEs.
Single radio voice call continuity (SRVCC) to GSM provides mechanism to handover (HO) user equipments (UEs),
which have a QoS class indicator (QCI)-1
This feature defines the area at the borders of uplink (UL) band where neither physical uplink shared channel
(PUSCH) nor physical uplink control channel (PUCCH), and physical random access channel (PRACH) are allocated to
user equipment (UE).
With this feature LTE1617: RLF Triggered Handover an additional trigger for a handover is introduced.
The load is better deployed over the networks (FDD,TDD). Therefore, the end user gets a higher quality of his calls
and a less call failure rate.
This feature increases throughput and hence also service quality for UEs on the cell edge regions of cells from the
CoMP set.
The LTE944: PUSCH masking feature provides an option for masking physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) sub-
areas that are not supposed to be granted to the UEs with data in the uplink (UL) transmission buffer. This feature
provides a flexible way of handling the UL interference problems, such as static reuse schemes.
With the LTE2050: Load triggered Idle Mode Load Balancing feature, the eNB triggers the Idle Mode Load Balancing
algorithm only when load conditions are met.
The LTE1052: Transport Configuration Fallback feature reverts the former working configuration of the base
transceiver station (BTS) and informs the operator about the failed configuration update when the BTS fails to
connect to its management network after a configuration update.
The LTE2026: RRC Signaling Robustness - Downlink feature offers the operator a higher reliability of the RRC
message transfer that leads to higher key performance indicators (KPIs).
The LTE2098: VoLTE Uplink Coverage Boosting feature introduces several improvements which are used for
optimizing uplink Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) connections. As a result, VoLTE voice quality at cell edge is improved, and
call drop rate is decreased.
The channel-aware and interference-aware scheduler divides the available bandwidth into several scheduling areas
which are allocated to the UEs. The LTE2205: Configurable Uplink Interference Regions feature introduces the
possibility of changing the number of those scheduling areas.
The LTE2598: ARP-based QoS Profiling feature supports the allocation and retention priority (ARP)-based scaling of
non-guaranteed bit rate (non-GBR) quality of service (QoS) parameters.
The LTE643: Multiple Read Sessions for BTS Site Manager feature introduces support of read-only sessions and
multiple user sessions to the BTS. With this feature, five sessions can be simultaneously established to the BTS using
BTS Site Manager, and nine TCP connections to the BTS Transport Web Page.
MIMO (4x2) configuration provides mainly additional cell coverage gain as well as a small capacity gain compared to
a MIMO (2x2) configuration.
The LTE1336: Interference aware UL power control feature brings closed loop power control. It is based on the
interference measurements and controls the power so that the adjacent cells are less interfered.
The LTE1894: Reference signal power de-boosting feature introduces the support for reducing the reference symbol
(RS) power that improves throughput.

software and configuration on the eNB's system module that has been installed to replace the existing, defective
hardware.
The LTE1047: Control plane overload handling feature is introduced to deal with control plane overload resulting
from signaling messages on Uu (RRC), S1-MME (S1AP) and X2 (X2AP) interfaces. The functionality comprises of an
overload management function and a set of overload countermeasures.
With this feature active, Dual Band and up to six LTE cells with optional 2TX MIMO Flexi LTE BTS configurations are
supported with one System Module.
This feature allows the users to access the network using handsets, which support certain frequency bands, and
which would otherwise be not able to access the network.
The LTE520: 8 EPS bearers per UE feature establishes up to eight EPS bearers per UE.

The LTE2051: Measurement based Idle Mode Load Balancing feature enhances the Idle Mode Load Balancing (IMLB)
mechanism. In the enhanced mechanism, the eNodeB uses the A4 based measurement to check the quality of an LTE
target inter-frequency, which is selected as a primary target with a highest priority by the IMLB algorithm.
Considering the measurement results, the eNodeB decides if dedicated priorities are added to the RRC Release
message or not.

The LTE487: Idle Mode Mobility Load Balancing feature introduces new mechanisms for Idle mode load balancing.
Currently existing Idle mode load balancing mechanism for LTE serving cell frequency and inter-frequency will be
enhanced with inter-RAT targets.

The LTE1677: Idle Mode Load Balancing Extensions feature introduces extensions to the LTE487: Idle Mode Mobility
Load Balancing feature. The algorithm existing for load balancing is replaced by weighted round robin algorithm. Also
the mechanism for target frequency selection and building IdleModeMobilityControlInfo IE is changed.

The LTE2166: Support of Dedicated Idle Mode Mobility Priorities feature enhances the idle mode load balancing
algorithm with a possibility to configure dedicated cell reselection priorities for each target layer.
The LTE1749: Mobility Robustness Monitoring Inter RAT feature introduces UTRAN MRO counters which allow
monitoring of too early and too late handover (HO) occurrences.
The LTE1103: Load Based Power Saving for Multi-layer Networks feature saves energy during low-load periods in
the network where there is more than one provisioned frequency
The LTE1203: Load-based Power Saving with Tx Path Switching Off feature enables monitoring of the system to
increase or reduce capacity.
The LTE1841: Inter-Frequency Load Equalization feature triggers load measurements and Composite Available
Capacity (CAC) calculation for the own (serving) cell and requests the CAC from partner neighbor (target) cells.
