I. OBJECTIVES
Most Essential  Describe the music characteristics of representative selections of
Learning Cordillera, Mindoro, Palawan and of the Visayas.
Competencies  Create a symbol that represents the characteristics of Cordillera,
(MELC) Mindoro, Palawan and Visayas Music.
 Appreciate the beauty of highland highlands music- Cordillera,
Mindoro, Palawan and of the Visayas through listening sample folk
song

 Through the facilitator the learner will Answer Learning task 1 on page
a. Introduction 6-(study the song entitled Rosas Pandan Visayan) answer the guide
questions.
 After students done on the first activity, they will read the text on page 8 to
have a better understanding of the lesson.

b. Development  On the D- Phase of the module, learners will read and analyze an
example of Ambahan using the given question below (Amabahan is an
example of vocal music in Mindoro)
1. What do you think is the message of the poem?
2. What do you think is the function of the poem in the lives of
Mangyan?
3. If you will make a tempo for this Ambahan, what would it be? Why?

c. Engagement The learner will engage himself/herself in making a symbol that will
represent the vocal music of Cordillera, Mindoro, Palawan and Visayas.
What would it be? And why? (Learning task 4 on page 10)

After they’re done in learning task 4, they will also answer learning task 5
on page 10- (As a youth of today, what can you do to enrich the vocal
music of Cordillera, Mindoro, Palawan and Visayas?

d. Assimilation The learners will answer learning task 7 on page 10, they will fill in the
box with the unique characteristics of the Vocal music of the Cordillera,
Palawan, Mindoro and of the Visayas.

V. REFLECTION
Five item Test could also be given or additional activities can be provided

Through the facilitator the learner will answer learning task 1 on page 12
a. Introduction after reading the text on page 11 and 12- after, answer the given questions.
1. What is your realization in the text that you’ve read?
2. Do you think geography is the reason why music of Visayas is rich in
Western musical tradition? Why?

b. Development On the D- Phase of the module, learners will make a slogan that will show
the relationship of culture and geography in the music of the Cordillera,
Mindoro, Palawan and Visayas.
After they’re done with the slogan students will write an explanation about
the relationship of culture and geography in the music of Cordillera,
Mindoro, Palawan and Visayas. List down at least two.

c. Engagement  The learner will engage himself/herself in drawing of any musical


instruments based on the following categories – Idiophone,
Chordophone, Aerophone, Membranophone)

d. Assimilation  The learners will make a list of all musical instruments of


Cordillera, Palawan, and Visayas. Students will use the table below for
answer.
