Instructional Process
1. Ask the students regarding the most important details, its theme, and
message of Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere and its implications to modern
society.

Preparation 2. Make a graphic organizer showing the impacts of the first novel to the
19th century Philippines and the implications of these impacts to the 21 st
century Philippines.

Present the interactive discussion on the characters, setting, details,


plot, synopsis and history of El Filibusterismo.

After reading El Filibusterismo, collaborate with a classmate and agree between


yourselves who gets to represent Simoun and Basilio. Taking into consideration
Simoun’s and Basilio’s beliefs, principles, and viewpoints, create a brief script of an
argument between these two and make a recorded video on any of the subsequent
topics:
1. English as the medium of instruction in schools;
2. Re-imposition of death penalty in the country; or
3. The Philippines’ New Anti-Terrorism Law
