Teenagers in Britain do much the same as kids in any other country do.

They enjoy
surfing the Internet, chatting to and texting friends on their mobiles, hanging out with
their mates, listening to the latest music, shopping for the latest fashions or just
watching movies on TV or at the cinema.
However, according to a survey conducted on recent years, British 15-year-olds spend
a lot of their free time (and pocket money!) shopping around for clothes and gadgets
they don’t really need.
According to another study, the Internet is British teenagers’ favourite hobby. They
spend an average of 31 hours a week online communicating with friends in chat rooms,
listening to music, looking for information essentially about diets, fashion,...
One in four teenagers of the 1,000 interviewed said they regularly spoke to strangers
online but thought it is harmless and one in three admitted trying to hide what they were
looking at if a parent entered the room. But the study also showed that children also use
the Internet to help them with homework, with at least three hours a week spent
searching for such information.
