    Question 1:

    A box contains 5 red balls and 5 green balls. Four balls are drawn randomly.

    What is the probability that 1 ball is red and 3 balls are green?

    The probability that a certain kind of component will survive a given shock test is 3/4. Find the
    probability that exactly 2 of the next 4 components tested survive. Also find the mean and
    variance of this particular distribution by using its parameters.

    Solution:

    Assume that “p” in the probability of a certain kind of component

    If X is binomial random variable, then we know that the Mean of X is n. p

    If X is binomial random variable, then we know that the Variance of X is n. p (1-p)
