5. Activity Description:
Explored Mahua product sensory evaluation, showcased food machinery to SHGs, discussed
farmer schemes at Horticulture. Explored Jashpur's history, demonstrated packaging
machinery.
6. Activities covered during the day

· Explored Vedic Vatica laboratory for the Sensory Evaluation of Mahua Products. Demonstration of
Food Processing machineries to SHGs(Self Help Groups) at Jai Jungle Production Unit.

· Explaining Different Government Schemes Launched for Farmers at Vedic Vatica Horticulture.

· Learned about History of Jashpur Village, tribles & tools they used to use for various
Activities.
· Demonstrated about various Packaging & Processing Machineries to SHG Groups at
Jashpur Food Lab & Mahua Centre of Excellence.

Remarks:
We learnt about various processed food products of jashpur along with their processing steps
and devices which they use.

Awareness Regarding RIPA. Learned traditional practices at RIPA Balachaper and Vedic A2 Dairy
Farm.

6. Activities covered during the day

· Explored RIPA (Rural Industrial Park) a state government initiative and spreaded
awareness in villagers about the Scheme & benefits.

At RIPA Balachaper we have learned about:

Dheki is a traditional Device used for Cold processing of Rice.


Filling & Sealing of Herbal Tea bags.
Manufacturing of Ayurvedic churn & Capsules
Explained Benefits of Murgi Palan to villagers at RIPA
· Learned about Difference between Desi Gai & Cow at Vedic A2 Dairy Farm.

Remarks
We spread awareness about entrepreneurship through RIPA.

 Explored and demonstrated apple plantation along with the value added products of
apple and their processing.

6. Activities covered during the day :

 Villagers were introduced to various value-added apple products,


highlighting the processing stages.
 Participants observed the conversion of apples into diverse products like
juices, jams, and dried snacks.
 Apple plantation exploration and demonstration emphasized cultivation
techniques and sustainable practices.
 ``Detailed insights were provided into the intricate processing methods
used to create these value-added goods.
Remarks :
 Farmers were successfully able to gain the knowledge about the processing steps and they
also got hands-on experience about cultivation of apple plants and their pruning for better
growth of apples.

5. Activity Description: Exploring the Nexus of Food Technology and Production: An Insight into
NIFTEM-K College and highlight on Contribution to Swachh Bharat Abhiyan"

6. Activities covered during the day

 Introduction to Food Technology and Production:


We held a school seminar on cutting-edge food technology, covering research, innovative
processing methods, food safety and nutrition, projects for food security, partnerships
with industry, and sustainable food production practices.

 NIFTEM-K College Overview:


We interacted with students and told them about NIFTEM, how you can get admission in our
college. What is the percentile system and upto what percentile you can take admission in
NIFTEM.
 NIFTEM-K's Impact on Food Industry:
Producing skilled professionals for the food industry, bridging the gap between academia and
industry requirements and contributing to the growth and development of the food
sector.
 Swachh Bharat Abhiyan:
Organized cleanliness drives within and outside the school premises.
Told about how to implement waste management practices for a cleaner environment.
Promoted awareness campaigns on hygiene and sanitation.
 Hosted quiz on Swachh bharat Abhiyan and distributed prize for participitant.

 Finally, Welcome and closing ceremony was held by the school principal and our
respected professor Prasanna kumar G. V. was awarded by a guest of honor.

Remarks :- Students were excited about NIFTEM-K and it’s admission process and also about the
future evendures, they also got good knowledge about what is food tech and what’s its
impact on people's lives. They took a pledge for keeping their society and environment clean
and participants also enjoyed a quiz which hosted by NIFTEM team.

5. Activity Description:
We addressed villagers' food preservation and processing issues, including extending wheat flour shelf
life, maize flour packaging, optimizing biogas plants, and innovating packaging for tamarind, asparagus,
and other foods/medicinal plants.

6. Activities covered during the day

· Discussed common problems of villagers regarding food preservation and processing.


Few of the problems are listed below:

How Shelf life of the Wheat floor will be increased.


In what type of packaging the Maize floor should be packed.
How should the Gobar gas plant give more efficiency.
Packaging innovation for Imli, Satawar, and many more food and ayurvedic medicinal plant.

Remarks
The discussion highlighted practical challenges in rural food processing, indicating the need for
sustainable solutions and technological innovations to improve food preservation, processing, and
packaging in rural areas.

5. Activity Description:
The day included a PMFME session with talks by Manoj Gautam and Vijay Sharan Prasad on
government support and schemes. Prasanna Sir detailed the PMFME Scheme, Sagar
presented on packaging, and Ashwani and Ramnaresh engaged with farmers. Later, we
demonstrated making ragi laddu for village women.

6. Activities covered during the day

· PMFME Session

Manoj Gautam (District Resource Person) told various ways to get support from the
government.
Vijay Sharan Prasad (District Mission Manager) encouraged various farmers/FPO to take
advantage of various government schemes.
Prasanna Sir explained PMFME Scheme in detail, talking about how much subsidy the
government will give and the interest that banks will charge and many more minute
details.
Sagar gave a full detailed presentation on packaging including complete labeling
information.
Ashwani and Ramnaresh discussed directly with farmers/ FPO’s ang gave m
solutions to problems in the questionnaire session.

· In the evening we demonstrated the making of ragi Laddu to the village women’s.

Remarks
The day highlighted the significance of government support and schemes for rural
development. The PMFME Scheme and packaging sessions offered valuable insights. Direct
engagement with farmers and the ragi laddu demonstration promoted practical knowledge
sharing.

5. Activity Description:
Throughout the day, we engaged in activities aimed at knowledge exchange with villagers.
This included learning traditional millet growing techniques and advising on modern trends,
exchanging insights on strawberry, pear, and tea cultivation, discussing traditional jeera
phool rice processing, and exploring value addition for products like pears and jackfruit.

6. Activities covered during the day

Millet Field Examination: We learned traditional millet growing techniques and guided villagers how
they can increase their field production by accepting new trends in farming.
Strawberry and Pears Farm: Villagers showed us their techniques for growing strawberries and pears,
while we shared modern practices.
Tea and Pears Farm: Villagers showcased their tea and pear cultivation methods,
and we exchanged insights on best practices.
Jeera Phool Rice Processing: We learned about traditional approaches of jeera phool rice
processing, and in exchange we told them to use rice milling machine to increase their
production capacity.
Value-added Products Discussion: We discussed value addition with villagers for the products like
pears, jackfruit etc

Remarks
The day's activities emphasized the value of sharing knowledge between experts and
villagers to improve agricultural practices and enhance productivity.

We participants witnessed tea leaf plucking techniques and explored traditional weathering
methods at Sarudeeh Chai garden.

6. Activities covered during the day

· The Sarudeeh Chai garden exploration involved learning about tea leaf plucking at
optimal maturity stages for quality.
· Techniques for harvesting mature tea leaves were demonstrated, emphasizing precision
and care.
· The exploration delved into traditional weathering methods used in tea processing,
showcasing their historical significance.
· We gained insight into the ancient weathering processes, understanding their role in tea
flavor development and quality enhancement.

Remarks
Experienced tea plucking details at Sarudeeh Chai garden,exploring historic weathering
practices.

entrepreneurship.
Finally how collaboration with NIFTEM helps and provides expertise in food science,
entrepreneurship, and management, readying students for impactful roles in food
technology.
