Date of purchase September 27
Cost $47.14
Reason for Return The game is advertised for children as

play it, it was obvious that the
instructions are too complicated for a
five-year-old. The pieces are also
dangerous because they are too small and
could be swallowed by a child.

EMAIL MESSAGE
To: Customer Service <cs@baxtercreek.net>
From: Natasha Lange <lange@youmail.org>
Subject: Temporary parking arrangements
Hello,
I went to your mall this morning and I parked in the reassigned lot. I know that this was
the first day that your parking garage has been closed, but I had a lot of difficulty
getting my parking ticket validated. I first asked the cashier to do it as I was paying for
a purchase, but she said she wasn't authorized to validate Kent Street parking tickets.
She had to direct me to the mall's information desk. The process was too complicated
and time-consuming.
I think it would be better if cashiers could validate parking directly at the check-out.
Please consider making this change.
Regards,
Natasha Lange

Theresa Gardner Well, you'd better sign up soon. The main conference room can

12:18 PM
Madeline Gray That's a good reminder. Moving on, there have been some new

the topic of his small group discussion, hasn't he?
Vera Anthony Yes. He e-mailed me the title. It's called "E-mail Tools to Save
You Time." That can be added to the schedule now.
12:19 PM
Madeline Gray I also spoke to Nijita Makino, who is scheduled to speak in the
12:21 PM morning, but can only come in the afternoon. I'd rather change
her time than cancel her presentation, but what do you think?
Theresa Gardner Why don't we just have Marco Hoch trade times with her? That

Vera Anthony That will work. I know that Marco will be present all day.

that you ran a similar workshop for your local youth club. - [4] - As we have a number of
schoolchildren coming that day, we are planning to set up the equipment on the roof of the
hotel's attached restaurant.
If you have any questions related to the conference, please e-mail me or call me at (013)

To All Tenants,
Please be advised that the water supply to the entire apartment complex will be shut
off between the hours of 10 A.M. and 3 P.M. tomorrow. This is to enable the
replacement of some old pipes, which have become corroded and fallen into a
dangerous state of disrepair.
The plumbing company has requested that all tenants take precautions prior to
tomorrow's start time, as changes in water pressure can cause problems when the water
supply is reactivated. To avoid any such problems from affecting you or your
apartment, please ensure that:
• All faucets are switched firmly to the 'off' position.
• Plugs are removed from all sinks and baths to prevent flooding in the event of high
water pressure.
• Toilets in your unit are not used throughout these hours. Toilets in the lobby will be
available as normal.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this may cause and appreciate your
understanding while this essential work is carried out.

Hi Abby,
Have you heard about the sidewalk repaving project that the city is going to do next month?
I just read an article about it. I think it could create a problem for our business since it will be
happening right in front of our store.
Businesses are encouraged to remain open, but I'm worried that customers won't want to walk
through a construction zone to come here. I've already submitted a contact request to our city
councilor and suggested another time that they can do the work. While I wait for his response,
could you contact our marketing team and suggest making some large promotional signs that
we can put out front? I want customers to know that we are still open during the construction
and that they can still come inside.
Thank you,
Edwin

I received your invoice yesterday and I would like to bring a couple of things to your
attention. First, the services were provided two days later than was originally agreed
upon. I hope that next week, the work will be performed on time.
More importantly, I was charged for a service that I did not ask for. Your cleaning team
did a wonderful job of cleaning our office, including the staff break room, but I had
specifically requested that this area be left alone. We're about to have it remodeled and
thus there was no need for it to be cleaned. I would like to have a new invoice created
with this charge removed.
Other than these concerns, I was very impressed with the work performed by your staff.

Once again we have completed a very successful event at the HMA Conference. I was
glad to see that the attendance figures showed a 15% increase from last year. I wanted
to give you all my thoughts on the conference generally along with some updates.
Firstly, particularly enjoyed the printed materials handed out to attendees at the X-ray
talk. They were useful during the presentation, and I also expect to refer to them in my
day-to-day practice.
Secondly, Dr. Foster and Dr. Helms both wanted to express their regret that time
constraints made it impossible for them to include the scheduled question-and-answer
sessions at the end of their respective lectures. They have, however, agreed to run an
online version through the forums on our Web site, www.hmaconference.com, over the
next two weeks. So head over there and add your voice to the discussions.
Lastly, in the near future, we will be making a decision on the location of next year's
conference. Details to follow by the end of the month.
Best regards,
Hilary Conkey
President, Holistic Medicine Association

_________________________________________________________________
Ray, have you heard the news? Ironside is holding a goodbye tour! I've included an
article about it. Ever since we saw them perform the first year they came out, you and
I have talked about going to another one of their concerts together. Now we're running
out of time to do it! I'd really like to see this concert with you, so we need to plan
quickly. Tickets are selling really fast.
I called the concert hall and there's already one show, the one on the 2nd, that's entirely
sold out. Likewise, the concert on January 15 only has the cheapest tickets left because
all the rest have been sold. Furthermore, I know that you're on vacation over
Christmas and New Year's, so that concert date also doesn't work. Hopefully we can
work something out, though
Let me know which date and seating area you prefer as soon as possible. I want us to
get tickets before it's too late!

From: Beth Seymour <bethseymour@regencyreviews.net>
To: Percy Whittaker <pwhittaker@forummagazine.com>
Date: April 1
Subject: RE: Proposal for More Work
Dear Mr. Whittaker
Having already critiqued a book on the trials of suburban gardening, I would enjoy reviewing
Cultivating Sorrow & Success, as I am sure it offers an interesting rural perspective on gardening.
However, regarding the second book you listed, I have some reservations. I have reviewed two of
the author's previous books, and I am simply not a fan of her writing style. Therefore, I might not
be well placed to evaluate her latest release.
I would prefer to review two books, however, so I'd like propose a different book for my second
submission. Might you consider From Garden to Table by Jeanette Winthrop? Jeanette is a
passionate gardener who advocates using your own backyard as a local source of produce.
Finally, with regard to the April 19 submission deadline, would it be possible to extend this by a
couple of days? Hopefully this won't be necessary, but the deadline for two pieces is a little tight. I
know that the magazine will hit shelves on the last day of the month, as always, so I am hoping you
can extend my deadline to April 23 if I'm a bit behind schedule.
Regards,
Beth Seymour

Questions 155-157 refer to the following article.
A Downtown Parking Solution
April 15, TANEYSBURG-A new regulation may reduce the number of cars illegally
parked in loading zones in Taneysburgs downtown area. City council member Ray
Stokes proposed increasing the penalty for such parking violations from $40 to $100
beginning next month.
The regulation was strongly supported by owners of downtown retail outlets, who have
suffered the most from the parking issues. The owner of Simon's Café, Matt Simons,
said, "The new regulation will help me continue to satisfy my customers. I had three late
deliveries last month because trucks couldn't unload near my shop. That makes it difficult
to keep my menu consistent."
The proposed alternative was to reduce the size of loading zones in order to create room
for additional parking spaces. Members of the community who believe that there is not
enough parking downtown campaigned for such a regulation. However, business owners
stated that a solution such as that would only create more problems for businesses.
Representatives from more than 50 shops and businesses submitted a petition to the
council opposing the smaller loading zones option. They are pleased with the outcome.
As part of the new measures, the city's traffic police department will expand its
workforce at the beginning of next month to better enforce the regulation.

Hi Emma,
Unfortunately, I've encountered a bit of a problem with my trip to Manila. My first flight

Date: December 21
Subject: My stay with the Grand Orchard Hotel
Dear Grand Orchard Hotel,
I am writing to bring to your attention my unpleasant experience during my stay at your
hotel last weekend. – [1]- I stayed with you after I missed my 4 P.M. flight out of
Bangkok on Saturday, December 19. Instead of trying to catch the next available flight,
decided to look for a hotel near the airport and leave for my business trip to Incheon and
Seoul on Sunday.
I thought I could relax and forget about my hectic day, but I was wrong. When I checked
in, your front desk receptionist, Marvin Shamitra, gave me a dinner buffet voucher. He
said it was a complimentary gift from the hotel. However, when I presented the voucher
at your restaurant, the waiter told me it had already expired. I didn't want to argue with
him, so I paid for my meal. – [2] –
After dinner, I went to my room to watch TV, but it wouldn't turn on. I decided to take a
warm bath before going to bed instead. While trying to empty the bath, I noticed that the
drain in the bathtub was clogged. Even worse, when I lifted the comforter, I saw some
ants on my bed. When I finally complained about my room, I waited thirty minutes for a
new one.
- [3] - I have been traveling overseas frequently since I was fourteen, and I must say that
your hotel is the worst I have ever been in. – [4] - Furthermore, I expect immediate action
to be taken in regard to my complaint.
Sincerely,
Charlotte Brown

The Boniface Experience Tour Announcement Delights Fans
By Jennifer Tully
November 24-Fans of The Boniface Experience were left crushed five years ago when the band
took a break from the music industry due to what was termed "a conflict between band
members." Last night, the same fans were celebrating following a press conference hosted by
UNG Productions, in which the band announced that it would be re-forming to produce a new
album. It will also embark on a European tour early next year. Lead guitarist Peter Turquoise
also confirmed that all problems within the band have been resolved." It is rumored that the
source of the conflict was a disagreement over the future direction of the band between
Turquoise and drummer Andre Symonds. But with Symonds having left the music industry
three months ago to pursue an acting career, the remaining members now feel that they are in a
position to work together once again. Turquoise went on to say that a new member will join the
group. Ryan Nelsen is to assume Symond's role as drummer
The Boniface Experience is a five-piece rock and roll band that originally formed in 2001 in
Austin, Texas. These artists have come a long way since playing in small venues to pay off
their college debts. After being recommended by talent scout Peter Wisdon and signing to the
record label Lilypad.
Records, they went on to enjoy huge success both at home and abroad, racking up five number
one albums in the U.S. and three in the U.K. Fans are now hoping that the band can enjoy
similar success following its return to the music scene. As a long-time fan myself, I am
particularly looking forward to seeing these artists in action on January 23.

Subject: Purchasing a vehicle
Dear Mr. Salinas:
I am contacting you because a friend of mine recommended your services. Apparently you
have a reputation as a kind and patient salesperson. I am looking to purchase a different vehicle
because mine keeps breaking down. I'd like to replace it with a newer model. I was hoping that
you would be able to help me find something suitable.
However, I'm on a tight budget, so I don't want to pay any more than $7,000 for a used vehicle.
According to an advertisement I saw recently, your company has at least one vehicle that might
be suitable. I'd like to schedule a time for me to meet with you. Then you can tell me more
about it.

Thank you,
Jessica Harland
