MENTAL ILLNESS

In today’s world, young people face a lot of problems, and one big issue is mental health. The pressure to do well in
school, meet social expectations, and navigate the online world can lead to mental health struggles among the
youth. The intense competition in education creates stress, often resulting in anxiety and depression. Social media
adds to the problem by making young individuals compare themselves to others, leading to feelings of loneliness
and low self-esteem.

Another significant challenge is the stigma attached to mental health. Despite more awareness, many still feel
afraid to talk openly about their struggles due to the fear of judgment. This fear often stops them from getting the
help they need. To address this, it’s crucial to educate people about mental health and create an environment
where young individuals feel safe discussing their feelings without facing discrimination.

To tackle these issues, we need better mental health education and support systems. Schools, communities, and
families should encourage open conversations about mental health, stressing the importance of seeking help when
necessary. Additionally, accessible and affordable mental health services should be available to provide timely
support. By promoting understanding, empathy, and a supportive atmosphere, we can work towards removing the
barriers preventing young people from addressing and overcoming mental health challenges.
