COMPARING PHOTOS

1. Start by saying what the topic is the pictures represent


2. Continue by saying what ’s similar and different about both photos
3. Talk about each photo separately and identify different parts of the photo :
in the foreground, in the background, on the right/left hand-side of the
picture/ in the top/bottom right/ left corner
4. Use Present Continuous to describe what is just happening in the photo
5. Use Present Perfect to describe what happened just before the photo was
taken
6. Speculate and use your fantasy and imagination about the happenings in the
photo:
Perhaps, ………………
It could/might/must be……
It looks as if …….
It doesn’t look like a ……………..
7. Give yourself time to think using expressions like:
I’m not sure but I think that …..
It’s difficult to make it out but …..
It’s hard to say……….
However strange it may sound ……
In all likelihood ……
Against all appearances…….
