Chemical Reaction
- a process in which one or more substances, the reactants, are converted to one or more different
substances, the products. Substances are either chemical elements or compounds. A chemical reaction
rearranges the constituent atoms of the reactants to create different substances as products.
Examples: burning of paper and log of wood, digestion of food, boiling an egg, chemical battery
usage, electroplanting a metal, baking a cake, milk going sour, various metabolism reactions that
take place in the cells.
Chemical Equation
- is an expression that uses chemical formulas and other symbols to illustrate what reactants
