AVOID:

 Spicy or Salty Foods


 Fatty Foods (Fried Foods and Junk
Foods)
 Pickled Foods and Sour Foods
Common Causes of GERD include  Caffeine (in Tea, Coffee, and Energy
Drinks)
 Cocoa or Chocolate
 Carbonated Drinks
 Sleeping or Lying Down within 2
hours of Eating

 Lying Down Flat (Sleep with Your Personal Notes or Questions
Chest and Head Elevated Compared
to the Rest of Your Body)
 NSAIDS (e.g., ibuprofen, diclofenac)
and Aspirin
 Alcohol and Smoking

INSTEAD DO THE FOLLOWING:

 Eat Small Frequent Meals (Every 3 to


4 Hours). Chew Slowly and Carefully
(DO NOT Eat in a Rush)
 High Fiber Foods (All Whole Grains,
Fruits and Vegetables Including
Beans, Chibwabwa, Cabbage etc.)
However, if you notice any foods
that cause YOU discomfort
 DO NOT STOP eating
but, reduce the
frequency.
 Take Warm Fluids 30
Minutes Before
or/and After
ingesting.
 Have some antiacids
and Paracetamol on
Standby.
 Use Natural Spice Herbs Moderately
as they Grow in Nature if You Wish.
