This instruction covers control plans for rotating electrical machines in workshops and in fields
where applicable.

Responsibility
The technical manager of PG Service is responsible for the content of this instruction and the site
manager of each site is responsible for the implementation of, and compliance with, the instruc-
tion. PG Service is responsible for monitoring compliance with this instruction.

Safety
Only qualified and authorized personnel are permitted to test the electrical machines. All testing
instruments must be calibrated and in good working order, all leads and contactors must be free of
any insulation defects.
Only authorized personnel are allowed inside the testing area, which must be clearly fenced in and
protected.
Some tests include rotating parts (shafts, fans, etc.), which should be covered or fenced in to
avoid any damage or injury.

Purpose
The control plan constitutes the planned controls that must be carried out before, during and after
certain phases in the work process.

Creating a control plan


A separate control plan must be drawn up for all work.
A Control plan must be drawn up in accordance with the Service instructions above.

Clarification of the headings used in the control plan


 Control phase
Describes before, during or after which work phase the control activity must be performed

 Components
Describes which component must be controlled

For each control point, the employee identification number and signature of the person who
performed the control must be registered

Identification of the control plan


The order number of the controlled machine must be used as the identification of the control plan.

Revision of the control plan


When the machine has been dismantled, cleaned and dried the control plan must be revised, tak-
ing into account any defects found.
