"Where will it lead?"

Most people question the choice of those who choose to take up a Technical-Vocational Track.
They often say that such a person will not have a clear future with the chosen strand. That's also what
some of my relatives said after knowing that I'll be pursuing animal science under TVL. However, I don't
believe them because I already witnessed how great this strand is as it push me to improve.

Animal science plays a crucial role in expanding our knowledge about animals. Especially, the
domesticated ones or farm animals. A study of growing and producing livestock that helps provide
livelihood to many people living in rural areas. Moreover, it also provides course choices like Animal
Science, Agriculture, Fisheries, and such. Additionally, I noticed that some of my classmates desire to use
this program to obtain experience before beginning their careers in biology and veterinary medicine.
Even though the teachers made it clear that animal science is not aligned to their desired courses.

As for me, Social Work is my top choice but still undecided, so I'm still free to try and explore new
things. As of now, I treat it as one of the hardest yet most rewarding majors. I love how almost all of us
tense up every discussion, and feel relieved afterwards. A major that we feel like we need to work hard
and do our best to be able to pass. Therefore, I must say that studying with this major let us have fun
while learning. I also enjoy learning about it especially after learning about poultry production because
my grandfather loved raising ducks and chickens back then. This also leads me to learn that even the
slightest mistakes will affect the chicks' growth just like in a life where we realize how mistakes can lead
us into our fall.

A funny thing is that thinking of this somehow motivates me. I sometimes relate myself to the
chicks that we study. The chicks need conformity, they needs to be well taken care of and we must
provide its needs and secure them in one place. But one thing that I learned as I continue my journey
here in ASTS, just like the chicks, we also need to grow. We must step out of our comfort zone and
explore new things.

Considering all this, we can say that their statements about pursuing a TVL track and even majoring
in Animal Science won't give us a clear future is purely just a misconception. It benefits the students to
know more about what it can offer and expands their knowledge about the needs of animals. For this
reason, I don't think that I have any regrets about choosing this major now.
