As a skilled Machine Learning Engineer and Data Scientist with about 5 years of work experience, I have demonstrated expertise in
leading a team in successful project delivery. I excelled in various projects including generative AI, NLP, computer vision, and data
analysis, utilizing my strong math and coding skills to drive impactful results.
EXPERIENCE
Graduate Machine Learning Research Associate, York University, NCML Lab Toronto, Canada
• Developed a transformer-based neural network utilizing integer encoding techniques for text compression. Sep 2019 – Dec 2022
Achieved a compression ratio twice that of the industry-standard Gzip, fine-tuning GPT-2.
Utilized a windowing method to decrease our model’s compression time by over 4 times. (Github repo)
• Proposed a Fourier based implicit image compression network that outperform JPEG by 5% on average.
Introduced an image generative network, that improved FID score of a VAE by 25.5 on CIFAR-10. (Github repo)
• Proposed a novel convolutional block incorporating the equivariency of the images in frequency domain.
Attained 300% reduction in the spectral gap between generated and authentic images while applying it on GANs.
Achieved 2.9 improvement in the FID score on CIFAR-100 compared to the baseline model.
• Generalized the well-known Universal Approximation Theorem to apply to neural networks using unbounded
ReLU and Softmax layers, providing critical insights into the functioning and behavior of these networks. (Arxiv)
Blockchain Engineer Intern, Iran Telecom. Research Center, ICT Research Institute Tehran, Iran
• Configured Corda nodes on Linux servers, improving network performance and streamlining transactions. May 2019 – Aug 2019
Research Assistant, Sharif University of Technology Tehran, Iran
• Analyzed and modeled earthquake magnitude data in various regions, utilizing statistical models and hypothesis Sep 2018 – Apr 2019
testing and leveraged advanced visualization techniques to unveil key patterns and insights. (Github repo)
• Extracted valuable insights from the GSMArena phone dataset, Utilizing advanced analytical tools and
visualization techniques, revealing key trends and patterns in the mobile device market. (Github repo)
