STOP PREMARITAL SEX:
SAVE TODAY'S GENERATION EARLY PREGNANCY | December 2023

In advocates of juvenile well-being, we are cognizant of the difficulties and

complications involved with the teen pregnancy problem. Our belief is to empower

youth to make wise decisions and enjoy satisfying lives by advancing knowledge,

awareness, and support. Furthermore, according to World Health Organization as of

2023 In developing nations, an estimated 21 million females between the ages of 15

and 19 become pregnant each year, and about 12 million of them give birth (1). From

64.5 births per 1000 women (15–19 years old) in 2000 to 41.3 births per 1000 women

in 2023, the ABR fell globally.

Here is the data of World Health Organization (WHO)

Thus, In ASEAN Countries One in ten births in the Philippines are from

mothers under the age of 19, according to the UN, making it one of the ASEAN

countries with the highest rates of teenage pregnancies. The Philippines has the

second highest percentage, at 56 percent, behind Laos, which has a rate of 64

percent. Dela Peña (2023). This is the very alarming to our generation and the coming

generation that will ruin their lives, dreams and futures. The table shows below the

rate of our nation- Philippines as the second in South East Asia.

To be more specific for this manifesto I want to propose to our provincial and Local

Government Units to have an action for this problem of our generation, I believe this

will be the cure for this disease of the young people.

Here are my principles in this manifesto:

Comprehensive Education:

We believe in providing comprehensive sex education that equips teenagers with

knowledge about reproductive health, contraception, and the emotional aspects of

relationships.

Empowerment through Information:

I advocate for access to accurate information on reproductive health, family

planning, and the potential consequences of early parenthood. Informed choices are

key to the well-being of teenagers and their future families.

Open Communication:

I encourage open and honest communication between parents, guardians,

educators, and teenagers. A supportive environment fosters trust and allows teens to

seek guidance when faced with important decisions.

Community Support:

I call for the establishment and enhancement of community programs that

provide support for teenagers, including counseling services, mentorship programs,

and access to healthcare.

Destigmatization:

I reject the stigmatization of teen parents and emphasize the importance of a

non-judgmental approach. Supporting teens through challenges will contribute to their

overall well-being and that of their children.

Prevention Strategies:

STOP PREMARITAL SEX:

I support initiatives aimed at preventing teen pregnancies through awareness

campaigns, accessible contraception, and addressing socio-economic factors that

may contribute to early parenthood.

Action Steps:

Education Programs:

Implement and enhance comprehensive sex education programs in schools that

cover both the biological and emotional aspects of relationships.

Community Centers:

Establish community centers that provide a safe space for teenagers to access

information, counseling, and support services.

Advocacy for Accessible Healthcare:

Advocate for policies that ensure teenagers have access to confidential and

affordable healthcare services, including reproductive health services.

Media Responsibility:

Encourage responsible media portrayal of teen pregnancy, avoiding

glamorization or stigmatization. Media can play a crucial role in shaping societal

attitudes.

Peer Support:

Promote peer support programs where older teenagers mentor and support their

peers, fostering a sense of community and shared experiences.

In adopting these principles and taking these action steps, we strive to create

a society where teenagers are empowered to make informed choices about their

reproductive health and where every individual is supported in reaching their full

potential, regardless of their life path.

This manifesto emphasizes education, support, and destigmatization while

encouraging responsible decision-making among teenagers.
