Purpose:
Cleaning of Copper Plate

Responsibility:
Electroplater and Plating Supervisor

Safety PPEs:
Gum boots, Rubber gloves, Chemical goggles, Chemical Suit.

Cleaning procedure using Karcher Equipment:

1. Take the copper plate to the Plating area.
2. Place the copper plate with cold face faced up and set the temperature of
Karcher equipment to 70ºC.
3. If grease is present on the cold face, apply 10% Caustic Soda on the
surface and grooves. Leave it for 10 minutes.
4. Wash with Karcher machine.
5. Use 20% Sulphuric Acid and apply it on the surface and grooves. Leave it
for 10 minutes.
6. Clean the surface and grooves with scotch brite and brushes.
7. Wash with Karcher machine.
8. If the surface is not clean, repeat Step 5 and 6.
9. Use 5% Chromic Acid and apply it on the surface and wash with Karcher
machine.
10.Dry the surface and grooves with air.
11.Scrub the dry surface with scotch brite.
