EXPERIMENT 7
Series and Parallel Combination Circuits

OBJECTIVES:
1. To draw the schematic diagram of series parallel combination circuits
2. To analyze series parallel combination circuits

MATERIALS:
1. Bulbs
2. Battery power source
3. Wires and alligator clips

THEORY
1. Series Parallel Combination Circuits
● A series circuit is defined to be a circuit where the current is constant
● A parallel circuit is defined to be a circuit where the voltage is kept constant
● In a combination circuit, some resistors may be connected in series, while the othersmay
be connected in parallel.

PROCEDURE:
1. You are given four bulbs, assumed to be of the same resistance.
2. Based from the schematic diagram assigned to your group, set-up the bulbs in a series-
parallel combination circuit.
3. When you are finished, all the bulbs should light, and you should be able to show the two
bulbs in series, and the other two bulbs in parallel.
4. Draw the VIR table and fill up all values. Show all computations
