Vendor Acquisition Case Study

Hi! Thank you for your interest in building the coolest furniture brand in Indonesia! Before we go
to the interview phase, please find below a simple test to gauge how viable you are for the
position of “Vendor Acquisition” ––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
You are tasked to buy the following products from designated suppliers for next month's
campaign. For each product, cost is listed below, along with the price in which we will retail it too.
We assume that suppliers will deliver on time for this exercise.

However, there are several constraints that will make the task a little challenging. Please find
the constraints below:
● You need to have stock of at least 100 units for every items
● Spending Budget is limited to 1.250.000.000
You cannot exceed this budget, but try to spend as much as possible
● All suppliers set MOQ at 100, and order must be in multiplication of 100
At the same time capacity of each product is 400 units max
Thus it means you can order only at 100/200/300/400 units
● All suppliers agree that if you buy more, you will get more discounts.
200 units – 5% Disc, 300 units – 8% Disc, and 400 units – 10% disc.
● Various suppliers have various capacity limits per month.
Boyolali supplier – 400mio, Jepara supplier – 500 mio and Cirebon supplier – 500 mio
Planning orders above capacity set by supplier will mean your order will be late.

Objective: Get maximum profit from the products purchased.
