You can tell from the title that it is about the Marxist viewpoint. The song is about the
current state of the Philippines, as seen through the eyes of the people's social standing or class.
In English, Tatsulok is a triangle, which Karl Marx designed to help us comprehend the social
classes in a capitalist environment. Tatsulok (Triangle) is a symbolic title for the song. It
describes our society's social class, in which only a few people belong at the top. It is the socio-
political pyramid, created by the decrepit system's reform forces who are subordinate to foreign
interests and the governing class. The majority of Filipinos may be found near the bottom of the
Tatsulok. It's essentially a revolutionary song against the country's triangle social system. Many
are impoverished, few are middle-class, and just a few are wealthy individuals who dominate
important political and social institutions in the nation.

Jose Rizal movie is all about how he fought for our country because he saw how the
Filipinos suffer that time. The unfair justice under the rule of Spanish friars and the mistreatment
of other rich Filipinos makes Rizal eager to fought for his country. He used his writings to waken
up Filipino people about what is actually happening to their society. They can’t defeat Spanish
friars, because they were not their opponents. The real opponents were those Filipinos who were
on the top of Triangle.

According to the lyrics of the song entitled Tatsulok, ”Hindi pula’t dilaw tunay na
magkalaban Ang kulay at tatak ay di syang dahilan Hangga’t marami ang lugmok sa kahirapan,
At ang hustisya ay para lang sa mayaman.” It simply implies that the elites have ruled the
Philippines for a long time, and as a result, reforms for the masses have never occurred since the
change is just for the elites. In the end of the song, Bamboo stated; “Habang may tatsulok at sila
ang nasa tuktok, Hindi matatapos itong gulo.” It simply implies that as long as the elite rule, the
issues will continue until the status quo changes. In sum, it is about the Marxist ideology that
believes equality will only emerge if capitalism is overthrown. The movie entitled Jose Rizal is
pretty similar to the song Tatsulok by Bamboo. Because these two were all about the life of the
poor and rich. How the people that are on top abused their power to control their people. Just like
Rizal who wrote novels to express and inspire people, the song who wrote Tatsulok also
expressed their thoughts through music. They want to know how the government works.

The song "Upuan" was released in 2011. The song addresses the inequities and
inequalities that exist between the wealthy and the poor. We hear a lot that politics is the worst
game to play, or that it is the politicians who are dirty, rather than politics itself.
Kayo po na nakaupo
Subukan nyo namang tumayo
At baka matanaw at baka matanaw ninyo
Ang tunay na kalagayan ko
Politics is one of society's worst games. Many people are dying as a result of this. They're
destroying each other for a chance at a position. A job that will give them tremendous power and
enable them to do anything they desire. Corruption is one of the issues in Philippine politics.
Corruption precedes our grandfathers and is still a concern today. The underprivileged in our
society are hit particularly hard by this issue.
“Mga plato’t kutsara na hindi kilala ang tutong
At ang kanin ay simputi ng gatas na nasa kahon
At kahit na hindi pasko sa lamesa ay may hamon.”

Yes, it is advantageous to be a politician. You will live a luxury life and will be able to
accomplish anything if you have the power. That, I suppose, is the very reason why people
become involved in politics. Having this type of power is like to having Midas' hand; you can
transform everything into gold and every chance into income.
Gloc-9 composed this song as a rallying cry for individuals in positions of authority. The
ability to make others people's life better. Such people living in a mansion and travelling in a
convoy behind those towering gates. Those who have positions, positions that have been
bestowed upon them by the people who have placed their confidence in them. Being trusted is a
pleasure, but they fail to see the core of leadership—leading the country and improving the lives
of its people.
As I seen in Jose Rizal movie, many are poor, few belong to the middle class, and only a
handful are rich people on top who basically control major political and social institutions in the
country. Rizal raising his writings to bring attention to the fact that classicism is the root cause of
anarchy. Their actual adversaries are not other countries that are vastly more developed than
theirs, but themselves. Because of this classicism, they are the reason the country is not
advancing. It is as though a sickness is destroying our culture.
In this dog eat dog society, the weak shall be perished by the strong. It is true, but it is in
ourselves if we will continue living in this type of society. Like what they are saying in the song,
Kayo po na nakaupo, Subukan nyo namang tumayo, At baka matanaw at baka matanaw ninyo,
Ang tunay na kalagayan ko. If only they put aside their greed and be like Jose Rizal who will
sacrifice his life for the country, there will be no people who will suffer. I indeed can’t imagine
why most wealthy people were thirsty for the power and the wealth of he people. It will not end
unless we ourselves do something about it.
