1. Simulation: simulate a pneumatic conveying process, specifically for transporting fibers

of straws with airflow.
2. Specifications:
a. The airflow primarily uses suctions, with each suction having a capability of
2000m3/h
b. The straw fibers have varied lengths, ranging from 5 cm to 50 cm, but mostly
around 20 cm. The fiber models for the simulation are rigid rods or semi-flexible
rods. (If there is any fiber model better for this simulation, suggestions are well
received.).
3. The process: straw fibers will be sucked into a chamber by two suction sources and
concentrated on the back side of the chamber. The net only allows airflow and prevents
straws from going through.

4. Different approaches: such as baffles, flaps, agitating mechanisms (nozzles), different

flow rates for each suction, adding a blower at the inlet, and changes in prototypes, will
be introduced to observe their effect.

5. Purpose of simulation: to observe the orientation of the fibers concentrated at the end
of the chamber. Compare the distribution of the fiber's orientation in x,y, and z directions
in normal conditions with test conditions (with only baffles, with only flaps, with only
nozzles, with only closed holes, with only baffles and flaps, different flow rates for each
suction, and add blower at the inlet).
