IDENTIFICATION POLICY
Identification requirements are strictly enforced. If you arrive at the test center without the required ID, you will not be admitted and your test fee
will be forfeited.
When scheduling your appointment, you must use exactly the same name as shown on the primary identification document that you will present at
the test center. This ID must also contain your signature and a recent, recognizable photograph.
If testing OUTSIDE your country of citizenship, YOU MUST PRESENT YOUR PASSPORT as your primary ID document. If testing WITHIN your
country of citizenship, you must present either a passport, driver's license, state ID, national ID, or military ID with your signature and photograph.
It is your responsibility to read and understand the ID requirements in the GRE Bulletin or on the GRE website at www.ets.org/gre/idrequirements
You must reschedule or cancel your test no later than three full days prior to your appointment (not including the day of the test or the day of your
request) or your test fee will be forfeited. The rescheduling fee is US$50.
Reschedule or cancel your appointment online at www.prometric.com or by calling the Prometric Candidate Services Call Center if testing in the
U.S., Canada, Guam, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands. For all other locations, contact the appropriate Regional Registration Center.
If you cancel your appointment no later than three full days prior to your test date, you will receive a partial refund equivalent to half of the original
test fee.
You may take the GRE General Test (computer-based and/or paper-based) only once per calendar month, and no more than five times within any 12-
month period. This applies even if you canceled your scores on a test taken previously.

All test takers in BANGLADESH, INDIA, and PAKISTAN must present valid PASSPORTS.

www.ets.org/gre/idrequirements.
Report to the test center at least 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment for check-in procedures. If you arrive late, you may not be admitted,
and your test fee will be forfeited.
The GRE Search Service matches prospective graduate students with participating graduate schools and fellowship sponsors. If you match the
recruitment profile of a participating institution, you may be sent information about graduate programs, admission requirements, financial aid
opportunities, fellowships, and other graduate education opportunities. You will be given the option to be included in the Search Service on the day
of your test, or you may register at any time for this free service at www.ets.org/gre/stusearch.
Now that you have registered for the computer-based General Test, ETS will send you a free copy of the GRE POWERPREP software. Allow four
weeks for delivery. You can also download the software free of charge at www.ets.org/gre/stupubs. You must report for your test date even if you do
not receive the software.
Beginning in November 2007, two new question types were included in the computer-based GRE General Test. You may see one new Verbal OR
one new Quantitative question type in your test. These new question types will be counted toward examinee scores as soon as an adequate sample of
