Preparation:

Greetings/Opening prayer: “Good Morning Ma’am!”

“Good Morning Class!”

“Let us pray first”

Let us all remember that we are in the

God.” Thank you God for this nice day.
Bless our families, teachers, friends,
school, work, and play.
Help us to focus our minds and
hearts to listen, learn, and inspire
others.

Then what about right angle? Right angle is an angle with exactly
90 degrees in measure.
Correct!

Here is an example of a right triangle

Right triangle has two legs and a

hypotenuse.

So How do we solve for the missing side

of the right triangle? We use Pythagorean Theorem to
Any idea? solve for the missing side of the right
triangle

Exactly!

Pythagorean theorem is one of the most

important theorem in geometry. It was
introduced by a Greek Mathematician
Pythagoras of Samos.

Pythagorean theorem states that the

square of the hypotenuse is equal to the
sum of the squares of the other two
sides.

Simply written as 𝑎2 + 𝑏2 = 𝑐2 or
𝑐2 = 𝑎2 + 𝑏2
Let’s have an example

This diagram shows the lengths of the

sides of a right triangle were a=3, b=4,
and c=5.

Let’s prove it using the Pythagorean

theorem.
Let’s find out if c is equals to 5 base on
the given example above.

To solve for the value of c,

Step 1: Write the equation.

𝑎2 + 𝑏2 = 𝑐2

Step 2: Substitute the values of in the

equation.

3 2 + 4 2 = 𝑐2
Step 3: Solve for the unknown side.
9 + 16 = 𝑐2
25 = 𝑐2
5=𝑐

Now let’s see if you understood the

lesson.
