“The Impact of Dishwasher on Household”

Introduction

Most of us probably dislike doing the dishes. The chore is always passed on to others,

particularly the siblings, who occasionally argue and push one another in an attempt to avoid

doing it. The person in charge avoids it more if the dish to be washed contains oil, such as

Tupperware, a plate, or a frying pan. And after a long day at work, we will have additional work

to do if we return home and find the dishes still unclean. This will exhaust us even more.

However, if we had a dishwasher, we would not have to worry about such things. Since a

dishwasher is a machine used to automatically clean cutlery, dishware, and cookware, it cleans

and rinses dirty dishes. Unlike manual dishwashing, which requires scrubbing and exerting

physical effort, the only thing we need to do to use the dishwasher is load the dishes, add

detergent, select the right cleaning cycles, and turn it on. In this paper, we present the concept of

a dishwasher, discuss its merits for society, and use examples to back up our findings. This study

will help us understand the benefits of dishwashers to society and the environment.

Background Research

Objectives

The researchers aim to achieve their objective of the impact of dishwasher on household by

answering the following specific objectives:

2

1. To analyze the influence of using dishwasher to time, safety, effort, and health.

2. To evaluate the impact of dishwasher use on being both environmentally and economically

friendly

3. To gain knowledge about dishwashers and learn the dos and don'ts of using one

Aim and Need for the Study

Many have said that a typical kitchen sponge is dirtier than a toilet seat. Even if you're

washing away extra food particles, you're introducing bacteria to the plates and utensils you use

to dine. The majority of the bacteria and food particles will be removed by dishwashers, leaving

you with the cleanest possible dishes. According to a German study, there may be more bacteria

on kitchen sponges than previously thought. 14 used sponges from various households were

genetically examined, and the results revealed an astonishing 362 different species of bacteria.

Although the majority of germs do not harm people, some do. People in today's society

frequently have little free time. It might not be the best use of that time to wash dishes like pots

and pans every day. A dishwasher can be packed and unpacked considerably more quickly, and

you can add items as you use them throughout the day. Your dishes will emerge spotless since

dishwashers carefully wash and rinse everything. This is often preferable to using the same water

to wash all of your dishes because, by the time you finish, the water may include a significant

amount of germs and debris.

The researchers will compare households with a dishwasher between manual

dishwashing. To assess whether using dishwashers can have a great impact on households being

both environmentally and economically friendly and immensely save time.

The researchers will conduct the study on 50 households. The researchers will take note of
the household’s recent water and energy consumption. This aims to gather information on the
significant contribution dishwashers can make to household time-saving and both inexpensive
and environmentally friendly. The researchers will observe 25 households with a dishwasher and
25 households that use traditional manual dishwashing. The observation period will be a one-
month period. After comparing the month’s utility bill, the households will measure their water
and energy consumption which will measure whether either is time-saving and both
environmentally and economically sound.

This study was made employing qualitative methods of research. The research methods
used are through collecting primary data from observational activities and secondary data from
related literature. These are the effective types of data sources best-suited for this research.
Furthermore, the researchers will report comparisons between the gathered data and existing
data.
