Key Role

● Responsible of the breast unit (Mammography modality) (with spot compression and
magnification), assistance in breast biopsies under Ultrasound and Vaccum(stereo
tactic) biopsies.
- Assisting 10-15 patients daily in the mammography department.
- Interviewing the patients to obtain their comprehensive medical history
- Using PACS and RIS to complete patients paperwork
- Explaining the procedure to the patient to improve patient comfort
- Maintaining weekly and monthly QA for the mammography machine

● Performing all diagnostic radiological procedures below: ED, CR, fluorscopic (


cystography, hysterosalpingography, arthrography…) , portable radiographs
● CT Scan (vct 64) exams without and with contrast product (PE protocol,
Stroke protocol,Angiography).
● Preparing administration of radiopaque contrast media needed for radiologic exams
● BMD (bone mineral density) with analyzing the exams.
● Providing direct patient care in a therapeutic environment focusing on Radiological procedures.
● Assisting physicians and radiologists in procedures requiring sterilizing techniques.
● Experienced in fast-paced hospital setting, insuring high standards of care for a wide variety
of patients with diverse needs.

TRAINING

● LAUMCRH (3 months internship) MRI and nuclear medicine (2019)

Nuclear medicine:

- Checking the blood sugar level of the patient to see if the patient’s body will be fully responsive with the
radioactive contrast given
- Preparation of the pharmaceutical in the hot lab in the safe way using high radiation protection measures
- Learning the insertion of an IV catheter and the administration of the radiopharmaceutical safely using the
leaded syringe
- Attending and helping with imaging patients in both PET-Scan ( like full body PET-Scan, cardiac PET-CT…)
and Scintigraphy ( thyroid-scan , bone-scan , renal scintigraphy…)

MRI:

- Checking for the patient if he has any metals in his body to perform the MRI exam
- Learning the physics of MRI machines and how it works on different sequences (T1, T2, STIR, FLAIR, T1*, T2*)
- Learning how to analyze and perform a well understandable MRI exams (coronal , sagital and axial cuts)
- Administration of contrast media intravenously , with the right non metalic material used exclusively in MRI
units

● MEIH (middle east institution of health) (internship in X-ray , Mammography


and CT Scan) (2017)

-Learned the proper positioning techniques for each body part and
understanding what needs to be shown in each xray done
-Learned how to perform fluoroscopic examination , like cystography,
arthrography and how to help physicians and radiologists in those exams
by being always aware of any emergency that may happen especially if
working with pediatric patients
-Learned on what to focus in each CT Scan done to insure that the exam
is well performed
