INTRODUCTION

Hello and good morning! My name is Putri Nor Kamilia Binti Megat Muzafar Shah and I know my
name is too long to remember. I am 18 years old and currently pursuing Diploma Business Study
(DBS) at Kolej FELCRA. As a first-semester student, I had the privilege of engaging with a diverse
range of subjects that have not only expanded my knowledge but also fueled my passion for
business studies. I am from Ipoh, Perak, and both of my parents are also from Perak. I have four
siblings and I am the third child out of four siblings, and I am the middle child among my siblings.
In my free time, I enjoy reading novels, web-novels, and manga. I am excited to be
a part of this assignment and look forward to sharing my thoughts and ideas with everyone.
AREAS OF STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS

Humans are not perfect as we think because everyone has their own flaws, so we as humans,
we cannot set side by side to show our strength and weakness. I also have my own flaws such
as my strengths and weaknesses, so now I am going to tell you about my strengths first.

Here, my list about my strengths: -

 I can study without feeling bored. (If they are my favorite subjects)
 I can read my notes repeatedly to memorize them. (When it is come to exam only
 I will not give up until I get the answer I want. (Especially in mathematic subject)

Other than that, I also have my weaknesses, so here is my list of my weaknesses: -

 I can easily feel burned out if I keep focusing on studying.
 Panic attack will attack me if I keep thinking about study only. (due to my overthinking)
 I cannot focus on too many subjects to study at one time.

SUMMARY OF THE CHAPTER LEARNT

CHAPTER 8: COMMUNICATION
Communication is about the exchange of messages between people for the purpose of
achieving common meanings. For example, a manager needs to interact with their employees
effectively so that every work is completely flawless. So, there are eight components that make
up the communication process:-
And there three types of communication:-
Eight barriers to effective communication
CHAPTER 9: QUALITY

- Chapter 9 discusses about quality component of management. Quality is a complex concept.

It has been defined in separate ways by different people in different organizations. The other
definition by several people is the performance standard expected by the customer (Fred
Smith, CEO of Federal Express). This chapter raises the issues of how a company's offerings,
including its products, methods of production and use of resources that can improve customer
happiness.

CHAPTER 10: MANAGEMENT FROM ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE

- The guidelines of Allah SWT apply to every facet of Muslim life. The Islamic approach to
management is an emerging discipline, often referred to as Islamic management, looks at the
management of organizations from the perspective of the knowledge and results in
applications compatible with the Islamic beliefs and practices.
WHAT I LEARNED FROM THESE CHAPTERS

CHAPTER 8: COMMUNICATION
- What I learned from these chapters is how to communicate with people properly so people
can understand what we are trying to convey. Receiving feedback from the message's recipient
is critical so that they can communicate their ideas or concerns regarding the communication.

CHAPTER 9: QUALITY
- What I learned from this chapter is how important quality is for the expansion of any business
enterprise. Consumers constantly seek to improve the quality of their lives, so it stands to
reason that businesses would also need to raise the quality of the products and services they
provide in order to satisfy these demands.

CHAPTER 10: MANAGEMENT FROM ISLAMIC PERSPECTIVE

- What I learned from these chapter is how we manage our company by using Islamic way of
managing as practiced by our prophet Muhammad s.a.w. I gain a better understanding of how
Islam's influence on management outperforms that of management viewpoint. The
responsibilities of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling are all included in Islamic
management (POLC), which differs slightly from traditional management.

DIFFICULTIES/CHALLENGES I ENCOUNTERED

- Actually I don't have any issues attempting to understand the chapters. Consumers constantly
seek to improve their quality of lives, so it makes sense that businesses would also need to raise
the quality of the products and services they provide to satisfy these demands. It is difficult to
understand them because of using in English language, so I need a short amount the time to
translate them in Malay language to help me understand each chapter that I study. But so far, I
can still focus and listen to the lecture in the class because my lecture always explains them by
using example in Malay language.

THE REASON OF THE DIFFICULTIES/CHALLENGES

- To begin with, it is challenging for me to process everything because I lack the fundamental
information and am learning about this course for the first time. Due to my shyness, I am
unable to directly ask questions at the lecture during class. As I mentioned before, I difficultly to
understand, especially when I want to read the slide notes that give it to us by my lecture due
to using in English language, so I need to translate them.

THE STRATEGIES THAT I USED TO GET THROUGH THESE PROBLEMS

- I always take the time to read up on any topic after the lecture to better comprehend it. To
relieve some stress, I also work out in between Maghrib and Isya. Otherwise, if I do not
understand any words while I read the notes, I will translate them into Malay language to
understand them better. Even though the lecture gives us slide notes, I will go to the library and
find any types of fundamental of management books, and I will do my own notes to get more
information.
MY THOUGHTS AND FEELINGS REGARDING THE CHAPTERS

- While studying these chapters, I realized that they were not only teaching me how to run a
business, but all these skills can be used in real life. I realized that management is not only
related to business, but it is also related to many parts of life, such as how we connect with
others, how we spend our time and what principles we choose to follow. Even though I have a
business knowledge since I took business account course in high school but does not mean that
I know more about business, so when I learned about management in collage, I feel like I
learned something new or gained better knowledge of what I already know.

CONCLUSION

- To summarize, management is a tool for improving the efficiency of certain operations. Good
management is the outcome of numerous processes rather than something that just happens.
Management is crucial for any enterprise, especially for a newly established one, as they need
to employ the functions of management, known as POLC, which stands for Planning,
Organizing, Leading, and lastly, Controlling to achieve an individual's or enterprise's goals. Not
only that, but this journey is beneficial to me in many ways. It teaches people how to be
patient, how to encourage one another, doing work with teamwork, and the most importantly
is not giving up easily.
