THE COMPLIMENT FAN

HOW TO PLAY

This game works better for larger groups with more than 4 people. Get
everyone to sit around in a circle. Hand everyone a pen and a sheet of
blank paper. Then get everyone to construct their own fan by folding the
top down (by an inch) and flipping over the paper to do the same thing.

Repeat this step until the entire sheet of paper has been folded down
into a fan. Next, get everyone to write down one product that they work
with extensively, make sure every person has a different product, on the
first fold.

Now comes the fun part. Each player passes their fan over to the person
next to them and they get a couple minutes to write down something
positive about the said product. It can be something as simple as
complimenting its packaging, some positive comments on the sales or
customer feedback, or even sharing what you like the most about the
product as a whole. Once the fan makes it back to its original owner,
give everyone a couple minutes to read it out loud!
WHAT CAN THIS ACTIVITY BRING TO YOUR SESSIONS?

Reading a page filled with others’ positive thoughts about something can
work wonders when it comes to boosting trust and improving confidence
in the product. This can also provide individuals with a sense of
belonging and pride to work with these products because it shows them
that people are actually noticing all these wonderful things about it.
SPECIAL CANDY GAME

HOW TO PLAY

Have participants sit in a circle, give each person a bunch of candy,

make sure each have equal nos (eg. 10).

Ask the participants to pick a random chit (each to have different

product), they now would be considered as the product they have
picked. Have each person make a list of all the positives/special qualities
of themselves (their product) – on a piece of paper.

Go around the circle have each one read out one quality that they think
is special

As each person says what they want to say, the other members of the
group throw that person a piece of candy if that is something they feel is
true and describes that product well.

Example: I say, "I can last for atleast 30-35 washes and still look new" If
you feel its true about that product, give that person a candy

Encourage others to help the members of the group who are having a
hard time thinking of something, and ask them to add those points to the
list as well. There should hopefully always be something new to add to
the list.

The game should hopefully end at a point where all members have the
same amounts of candy again or at a point where each of the product
would have a considerably long list of positive aspects.

PS. Same point can be repeated among the different products, but one
particular point must not be repeated in the same product.
PRODUCT TOTEM

HOW TO PLAY

Players take turns constructing a ‘Totem’ for each product (representing

a strength) with an animal card and a quality Card to best describe the
product. Each group member receives a moment in the spotlight to
reflect on why they chose these specific cards to describe the particular
product.
WHAT CAN THIS ACTIVITY BRING TO YOUR SESSIONS?

You know that great feeling you get when you receive a compliment?
That’s exactly how you feel after playing a game of Product Totem!

Having the opportunity to reflect on the product’s best strengths and

qualities can effectively break down their own doubts about the product–
helping them connect on a much deeper level. Ultimately, hearing others
tell what they like about the products the most can be incredibly effective
when it comes to building trust and improving confidence in the products
they deal with and the company at large.

WINNER/LOSER

HOW TO PLAY

In pairs, each player takes turns to reveal a past negative experience to

their partner. The listener then retells that same story but provides a
version that only focuses on the positive aspects of that experience.
WHAT CAN THIS ACTIVITY BRING TO YOUR SESSIONS?

This group therapy activity gives group members a chance to get to

know and be exposed to someone else’s perspective (a positive one) on
a past negative experience, individuals can break away from their
traditional ways of thinking – opening themselves up to adopting a
positive, assertive attitude to cope with their problems.
