A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE ADOPTIONS OF THE BARANGAY QUICK

RESPONSE CHECKLIST IN NUTRITION IN EMERGENCIES AND DISASTERS.

(EXPLANATORY NOTE)

WHEREAS, it is a mandate of the state to protect the health of the people as

provided by the 1987 Philippine Constitution and further elaborated under the provision of
Republic Act NO. 7160 otherwise herein referred as the Local Government Code of 1991.

WHEREAS, Presidential Decree NO. 491 provides for the directives for the
sustainable implementations and management of the nutrition program down to the grassroots
level in order to manage malnutrition problem of the country.

WHEREAS, the Philippine Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Act of 2010
otherwise herein referred as R.A. 10121, has created the National Disaster Risk Reduction
and Management Framework and established the National Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Plan to serve as guide or framework in minimizing or stopping casualties during
calamities or disasters.

WHEREAS, the nutrition cluster is part of HEALTH EMERGENCY

MANAGEMENT STAFF (HEMS) as their five (5) approaches in preventing or minimizing
the loss of lives during emergencies and disasters.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVE AS HEREBY RESOLVE, A

RESOLUTION DECLARING THE ADOPTIONS OF THE BARANGAY QUICK
RESPONSE CHECKLIST ON IN NUTRITION IN EMERGENCIES AND
DISASTERS IN THE BARANGAY.

RESOLVE FURTHER that by the POWERS and AUTHORITY of the Barangay

Council as mandated by R.A 7160, the herein checklist shall be used as a quick repose guide
of the Barangay in nutrition emergencies;
